Castle of evil

She looks around seeing more of the spirits but Rachel wonders what else is going to go on. Will it explain something she's known for or was it wrong? She had to figure it out while seeing Samuel doing his best.

As she sent pit a probing thought nothing came bqck to her about intent. Nothing except the desire for company drove these lost spils or evil spirits toward them. They were dangerous if sich large numbers and unchecked a swarm of them could lure a mich wors eenemy near. She disnt want that and decided that the best cpurse of action would be to drive them off and help him.

In some point, both Rachel and Samuel just remained quiet with one another while seeing them just minding their own business. They were still looking around due to the spirits crowding them but this leaves her really worried about something. She already was doing her best to make sure that they get away from this place before something came. She didn't want anything terrible to happen while they were doing their best to help with fighting them.

They wer ebeing slowed down and she used her fire magic speeding up the progess they made. They come to an abandoned church and rush inside as a barrier forms trapping the spirits out.

They wre on sacred ground surrounded by tombs and mausoleums beyond were desecrated graves and deconsecrated ground wher ethe spirits were pouring out from. They had made it to their goal. Here in the undisturbed section of the graveyard they could rest and recover their strength before confronting the necromancer and retrieve the forst relic for rhe combat cross.

"Do you think we should be safe?" she asked seeing him but looking to Samuel got her wondering if he heard her. He must have been listening for anything else that might have tried to break in or so. All in all, that leaves others questioning other things after a while. He remains silent for a bit before seeing Rachel look to him.

"What's the matter?"

"Nothing's wrong. You just seem...down. Are you okay? Did I do something wrong during our run?"

"Im just thinking of the history of this place. It used to be a place of worship now ita being used to defile the meaning of life." He said and he meant it. He thought deeply about this sort of thing. He was also thinking about how tired he eas from figjting so hard to get here but he didnt want to worry her.

"....I heard old stories about it myself..but never like this." Rachel always wanted to come here to learn and explore it's wonders but now, seems that's out of the window now.

"Either way; this shouldn't lower our thoughts of what we must do.." Samuel said to remind her that Rachel nods.

They spent an hour or so resting and he got up. They needed to stem the tide of the evil pouring of the lair. He was ready for anything and crosses the barrier of the consecrated ground. The spirits start to slowly flow towards him and he lashed them stepping towards the main building. Inside was the telic they came for and he knew they would need it to finish the fight with the necromancer that was summoning the spirits and undead.

She followed and curiously enough the building was empty exceot for a tomb with a huge gothic cross as a marker. The center had a slot for the combat cross. She felt energy all around her and he stepped yp to teh cross and place dhis weapon into it.

The cross closed on the weapon and it cracked with energy befor opening. The tip of the cross now had a sharp triple point and she knew it could penetrate stone mwtal and wood woth ni trouble. The spirits floart through the stones and she used he rfire to hokd them back.

The tomb crumbled plunging them both i ti the catscombs below.

She looked nervous from the sight but she only looking more curious about it. Maybe something else was going or bother out. Maybe that was either way but Samuel just keeps going to see her behind her.

He groans getting up. And dusting himself off. It was lucky they fell into an unpopulated section and he helps.her up. Rachel blushes. She eas heated by the surprise and his caring about her. She stood and he dusted her off. She ws ready and happy they werent hurt.

"T..thank you.."

"It's fine. Are you alright?" he made sure to see her alright and sees Rachel give a slight nod. She was alright even from a little jump but she was fine either way. He gives a nod happy to hear that while seeing her looking alright but happier after a while.

They hear a faint groaning and shuffling sound they both recognize it to be a zombie and rhere was nowhere to hide. They heard clattering and he recognised skeletons. Both were grtting closer and seemed to be around the corner. He got his combat cross ready and his whip of alchemy. She prepared a to release a fire ball.

The clattering was a skeleton but it was different than the ones from before. It had a leather chest peice and a flail with a spiked ball at the end. It was accompanied by ywo other skeletons. The two others throw bones at them and jump back before throwing the same bones as they regrow. The one woth the flail comes closer. Behind them several zombies shuffle around the corner. One looked more substantial than the others and he and she both dodged before he release her fireball

The explosion wiped out the regilat enemies but the skeleton with the flail survived and the stronger zombie did as well its flesh rotted away releasing a noxious cloud and the flail whistled towards samuels head. He ducked makong it miss and struck whith his whip and combat cross damaging the bibes but not destorying the skeleton. The zombie was cloer now and she tried another spell focusing it on the zombie before its cloud mad ethe two of them pass out.

He lashed again after leaping away from the spiked ball and the skeleton looked a lot weaker. The zombie was slower now as some of its bidy started to burn.

She kept building up more of her magic seeing the flames burning bright. However, she already was trying her best in working on another spell. For now, Samuel was already working on what she could minutes later. Knowing the possible outcome of it that he was still swinging attacking with his whip.

The chain of the combat cross cracked behind her as he threw it back and swings it at the skeleton. He dogded another fkaik attack and struck it again with the whip. It slowly dissolved into ashes and thw zombie shuffles on a tthe same pace. It was truly powerful to withstand her spells and he rushed forward to lash it with all his might trying to bring it down bwfore it got too close.

He was insid ethe noxious cloud surrounding it and close to the corner the undead came around when he chokes on the air. He was also in range of her spell and he wouldnt let it get closer and dragged it away from her after bindi g and throwing it at the far wall.

There was more shuffling and two more just like it shamble around the corner. They see or hear him and turn to slowly inch towards him arms outstretched and groans leaking their lopsided jaws. She had to act fast or he would be overwhelmed.

Thinking was rather slow or quick. If not, Rachel didn't want anything to harm her or Samuel. She quickly thinks seeing more coming towards her that she begins building up a shocking spell that she learned a few years back. Samuel was still fighting whatever is near but she was doing her best to work on it. They limp towards them slowly getting closer that it was becoming scary. She shook her head to keep on focusing with sparks starting to grow around them.

When she was finished, she opens her eyes to fire the charge spell towards them hearing a explosive boom. She protected Samuel from the shock as she sees a few of the undead while it was still going ahead with shocking each one that was near by.

The lightening bolt burned through their flesh and the shock did nothing to slow them down or stop them the bolt ionized the missing flesh scattering the noxious fumes all the way to her. Her focused spell missed him thanks to her intention to only hit the zombies. They didnt seem hurt but she did hit their spine smaking them lean over with broken backs.

He leaps back holding his head. The thunderclap from her spell hurt his ears and he was otherwise unharmed. He lashed their legs making them topple over and they leak a dense acidic poison from their burned holes caused by her spell.

He shudders from how pwwrful she was and knew he shouldnt make her mad or she might just hit him with that spell. He keeps lashing them trying to finish them off. It seemed the blessed strikes from the combat cross were doing some damage to them but it didnt seem to be ehough. The lightening was too focused of a spell to work completely.

She hears more from around the corner and rattling bones. He was jumping all over the place to strike the zombies as they rise and she had to think.

She thinks that lightening might not work so what about fire? She quickly held up two fingers to aim forward to the skeletons. Rachel made sure she didn't hit anything but maybe to keep them back as best as she could. Quickly, she begins firing small fire balls that hit a few of the enemies but sees a couple now trying to aim. She fires more still seeing a few get burned and other zombies not blowing up.

The fire catches and spreads as the rotten flesh easily catches fire. The zombies dont notice as they keep burning. His whip flashes and shines in the flames as he lashes them leading them to him. He spun once catching the clostest to her across the back. It turned and he hits the other her flames spread as they fall into eachother. It seemed only fire could put them down quicjly enough. He wonders how long she could keep it up as he progresses down the corridor.

She turns and fires another barrage to finish off the first two then rushes to keep up with him. He pauses to double strike double strike the zombie at the corner as she gathers her power for another fire barrage he keeos going as it turns to strike him. As he vanished around the corner she could see more. He ducked to the left and she sww the whole wall lined with bones and coffins.

Her barrage went off turning the ladt zombie to ashes. As she turned the corner she saw different kinds of denser skeletons and abominable combinations of zombies shaped in grotesque ways. They were held together with necromancy and their forms took on the bizzare shapes that hunated the mecromancers mind. She could feel its mind and power thrumming through the place. She blushed and used that heat to feul her fire as she saw him running ahead without fear. He trusted her so much he didn't rhink they could lose.

He noticed things she noticed and could almost sense what she sensed. He focuses his strength to shatter the necromanctic hold and make it easier to finish them off. It would tire him out bit by bit and he knew to save some strength for later.

She keeps on moving to make sure more of her fire blooming spell bursts and explodes to destroy more enemies as they came. Rachel didn't want to miss either one but it seems more just pops up out of no where. Samuel sees her building up more flames that she fires them towards the denser skeletons before exploding. Samuel shields his eyes from the brightness of her spell but she and him keeps up.

He tries to attack this beast with his whip but sees it roar out in anger towards him. She fires more flames towards him but it only shows hm and her land on their feet. "This is insane. This monster is-"

"I know. We need to find some way to break it's connection before attacking. Got some idea?" He asked but she begins thinking then had one idea. Rachel had a old spell on her that was used for magical mind holds. Maybe she could use that.

"Hey, can you keep that thing busy for a second? I think I might have something.." she said building before she jumps back to quickly try to summon the spell. Now, it seems like Rachel was seeing Samuel rush over to get this monster's to keep his mind on him. She was now chanting words under her breath but was silent for the time being. Maybe she was already focusing but the spell wouldn't take long. She just needed some time. The monster tries swiping at Samuel but it missed him. He keeps hitting or attacking so he can keep it's eyes on him.

A burning fireball flashed by as a bone tower formed out of the remains of a skeleton that he knocked down. His power was weakening the hold but not breaking it he guessed and h3 had to see if her woell was different. She wasnt even doubting herself and that was imlortant with spellweaving. He shattered more akeletons and threw flaming monster parts at zombies whe ahe prepares her apell.

Her mind sought out the necromancer. It was obvious where he was and the dark things inside touched her thoughts. Then she felt them reaching out trying to ensanre her and it begins a battle of wills. She nwver fought a battle of the mind before Nd the leeching tendrils of his mi d wrap arou d her in perverted ways to disctrwxt her while his mi d slowly works its way to find the core ofher being and take over.

She keeps building up energy with magic that it was quickly causing her to blast more power through the area. The flames burned the enemies around them but it caused the ashes to go up slowly. She glared ahead seeing the ashes but she made sure to see whatever happened was taken care of while he thinks of something.

Whatever is going on just makes her form more of her magic while seeing everything working together. He sees her blast more magic that she was quickly blasting one to see it become ashes. Rachel made sure to remain silent but she only tries to keep defending him just in case.

He rushed ahead climbing up then sliding down and all the while she finished off the undead that he weakens. They were getting closer and the presenc ein he rmind was still tryin gri distract her when a skeleton he missed reaxhes for her. She bladted it and had ti hir ir again befoe eir hit her and she dives around the corner.

Thw attack on her mind was slowing her down and making it harde rto focus her power. Almost as if he knew Samuel was running as dast as he could towards the necromancer. He repeatedly used the grapple on his combat cross to yank enemies arpud and throw thwm into others knocming them down and opening the path. He wasnt taking any chances he might have taken alone and she relaized he was fihhting differently than normal to accommodate her spellcasting and her own pace as well.

Samuel and Rachel finally make it to the ceremony atrium to fine thw necromancer busily forging a new undead. It rose off the table a mass of bones that rattle and could seperate and rejoin at will.

The creature before them was a lich a willing sacrifice to obtain greater powers. The necromncer himself bonded with the creature forming a peverted halfundead with necromanric powers. the creature roars at them and chanted a spell forming blood red skeletons tjat reform after she destorye dthem.

"Samuel..." She sees the beast rising but he grips his whip seeing the monster take form.

"Ah damn it.."

This beast sees the two then charges again that made both Samuel and Rachel jump out the way without it drawing closer towards them. However, this worries them since it seems to also be growing stronger later on. They had to beat this thing before everything goes out of whack. She tries another lightening spell again but he sees her get knocked back hard into the wall. Samuel attacks again trying to weaken it.

Her lightening spell destablizes the creature stunning it as he lashes with both the whip and the combat cross. The whip ws alchwmically treated to channel his power and the combat cross seemed to be the same way. As he struck the stunned lich she felt the mind of the nexromancer reaxhinf out to try and bind her body. It didnt work and she got up and prepared anothe spell. She noticed lighteninf worked on this thinf and tje skeletons crumble to dust only to reform time and time again.

Samyel was using wide sweeping arcs to hit all of them and hold them at bay. They werent doing much damage but it was holding them back and occupying their attention as the necromantic energy lashed out at the both of them in a wave like fire. He jumped over it but she got him geting slammed into the wall again. The bones on the wall crumble and break rolleing awau from her as she hit and she got up shaking.

The forces at work were conpletely crazed and unstable but they were strong. She fired another bolt this time it chained to the skeletons and mad ethem crumble for a moment clearing his path. He advantage of that and smote the creature with both whips flaring with her lightening. Like the flames from before both the cross and the whip seemed to gather and harness her power when they touch the effects and the stunned beast falls down as the bloodred skeletons reform and march towards him rattling as they did in a pale imitation of laughter.

They couldnt be destoryed and she had to think hard about a way to purify them before they reform. The only purification spell she knew was for curses and she knee if she used it she would use all her strength and it wpuld take a long time to prepare.

"Samuel im going tk try something. Keep them busy and away from me i have to concentrate." He nodded kurtly and rushed forward to attack at a closer range as she prepared the cleansing spell. The she got it from said it could cure vampire curses werewolf bites and other forms of affliction that resulted in the formation of a night creature.

He swings and clashes at the monsters around him, trying to do his best to give her time through this. Knowing how some spells can be, he wasn't sure how powerful this one was going to be now. Maybe he was wrong or maybe he will see for himself. He keeps them at bay from her as she was building up more and more of her energy. This will really tire her out that she might not be able to think for a while but if it helps with beating this thing then she'll do it.

A wave of energy builds around her that she winces feeling it showing among her skin and body. A magic circle even forms under her while she was still building. The skeletons were still trying to hurry over to them but Samuel kept them away. "Back you beasts! You will not pass!!" he wanted to be sure he would keep her safe. Nothing would pass him till she was done.

They kept on reaching for Rachel trying to draw closer but they felt the building of magic around her as it started to heat up the area. The light burns them that most hisses toward her. The main one knew and quickly tried to stop her but Samuel wouldn't let them get near her. The magic was burning stronger but she winces feeling more magic build up even stronger. It started to burn the air around her but she didn't stop. Rachel wanted to put all of her energy into this but she was still building up more and more. She wasn't sure how much longer she could hold whatever is inside of her now but she bears with it.

"Ray! How much longer!" Samuel calls to her but she opens one of her showing a glowing effect from her magic.

"...J..Just a little longer.....a little....Nuggh...longer Samuel!" she calls out still seeing the magic spell building again.
