Their respite would have to be short. Even this hidden village was not safe forever and she had a feeling that the dark one was searching for them. A few days after they reached the village she heard a report of increased monster activity nea rthe borders of the area protected by the royal family secret servants. That wasn't a real threat yet but she felt time pressing her to hurry.

As for link he was with some of the children l. After 5 days in the village the scouting paties returned and told her and the chieftain about the state of the kingdom and at the end of their report was a terrible truth. "The dark one is seeking the sacred relic. Already he knows where it is and is working to find a way to enter the sacred realm and claim the relic. "

Zelda was quiet and thoughtful at first she thought feeding misinformation would help but she knew if the dark one was angry her kingdom would suffer under his wrath. She took a deep breath and decided to devise a long set of false challenges that would keep the dark one busy for a time. She didn't k owing how long and at the end when he discovered the false trail his wrath would be visited on the kingdom. It bought time kept him busy...

She instructed her secret servant's the sheikah to create this false system of test and reward in mirror to the gods tests for the hero. Each was to be constructed to challenge the mind and power of any including the darkone and his creatures with small sacrifices as rewards. "They must seem real and be extensive enough to buy us time. You must never be seen ut must remain watchful. Each device trap and goal must send a signal into the sky to let me know of the darkones progress so I know how far he has gone and how much time we have " she said and the sheikah went out to follow her commands. Then the chieftain turned to her.

"Your highness... what should we do at the end? That was the only thing you neglected to say" Zelda looked up at her most trusted servant and smiled.

"If we do this right then the hero and I will be at the end with the relic in hand. We will lead him to the door and slam it on his face." She said and the chieftain looked grim before nodding this task was for her and that meant that it was to be a suidlcide mission. An illusion to fool the king of darkness. And incite his wrath at a time Zelda chose and could be ready for. Truly she was a wise princess.

As the chieftain left link was summoned to Zelda in a royal command. He came and suddenly burned red seeing her change into her new travel outfit and show off for him.

"How do I look?" She asks and he nodded in approval. She giggles and smiles. "Then we are ready to go. Come we will go to the next temple and purify it. It lies far away from here and I would enjoy having you by mu side every day hero." She said and he blushed he always blushed when she called him a hero and he left to gather his things.

For now, their travel begins with Zelda and Link heading to the next destination. It could be a long one but it was worth it after a while or a few hours. Depending on how far it could take a few days.

After a few hours she noticed the sun getting low and he hears her ask if they can stop and eat. He kept going and she thought he didn't hear her before he turned to a small cave in the hillside. She hopped off her horse and helped him set up a small cooking fire and the beds. She couldn't wait for his cooking a nd wondered what he was going to make. He used a horse blanket as a cover for the cave entrance and that hid the light of their fire well.

She watched him prepare the meal from their store of ingredients and almost started to drool as it simmered. He smiled watching her as she was transfixed on the meal. She couldn't remember the last time she ate his cooking and it didn't matter because it was taking only half an hour to make.

She looks ahead too but wonders to see the meal. It looked good and smelled pretty good too.

The stew he served was cooked in a pumpkin with goats cheese hylian bass salt and ironshrooms he found nearby. Just tasting it made her feel fortified as they ate the stew she noticed he was watching all around she was amazed at how much he made with so few ingredients and helped him bury the pumpkin after. The fire burned low and she sat resting against him as they rest for the next leg of their journey

Though, resting was always helpful since she always tries to be sure he was resting too. All the traveling was something noted for her but it was for their quest. It was a long one but she was still pushing through even so with him.

He held her tight not wanting her to go far. Both form how he felt and the dangers of the wandering packs of monsters. She pressed close and watched the fire as it calmed her. She knew he was going to win and her only fear was he would drift apart from her after their victory. As for him his fear was he would fail and everything would be lost to darkness.

He was going over the quest in his head and trying to reason out which temple would be next. He felt the difficulty of the challenges they were going to face were going to keep getting more and more risky.

For now, they just remain here and looks to the out of the night. Seems it was not too bad but it helps in some way.
