Castle of evil

"*Sighs* Fine fine....I guess we can give it a shot and see. But I'm watching you.." she warns the vampire that he nods understanding the rules. He wouldn't do anything but obey her orders or help assist them when requested. For now, they had to prepare for their journey that would take one year to make.

"The reason it will take so long is to avoid the night crwature corces. We must travel north around the mountains on yhe west side of them. Getting there should take a week. Getting past them and around two months." He said laying oit the maps for he rto see and marking their route. She saw rivers and forests close by their route and knew he was doing that to keep meat and water in their diet.

She nodded and trusted he knew the way. She didnmention something else. "There is a town ad the souther end of the mountains." She said pointing it out on the map. "We have enough supplies for the week to get there but we need to stop in town to pick up supplies. I want to leave hunting as a last resort for meals." She said and samuel thought about it and nodded.

"Sounds fair rachel. Any suggestions vampire?" He asks turning to the vampire as he set up rachels tent for the night.

"Just one. Spend one day and no nights in that town. The vampire lord and proximity to the demon castle cause the dead to rise every night to roam the streets." He said grimly and finished laying out her bed. "Mistress your lodgings are complete. The young belmont here is fairly competent a fine choice for a travelling companion." He added bowing. He was telling the truth but still hides distaste for samuel on the principal that his family hunts night creatures like him. Even as young as samuel was he was skilled at an ild form of magic and the vampire senses could sense the aura filling the source of the older magic and the genetic ability to despel evil power made him formidable amd he hadnt felt a need to use his magic yet.

She blinks from the words the vampire spoke but looks down at the map again. From the passage they were going to take, it seems like a long one. Maybe Rachel can pick up other things along the way. Even if this vampire will follow her till his dept is paid. With a sigh, she looks to him then at Samuel.

"Alright, I guess that explains the weird stories I've heard from the town. Hopefully we won't meet one during our travels." she mutters.

"Oh but you might mistress if you go staying there at night. I'm sure that nothing will come of harm to you mistress Rachel." he bows once more that she looks uncomfortable to look away.

"I wish you wouldn't call me mistress. Just Rachel is fine...ummmmm..what is your name?" she asked.

"...I don't remember my human name but you can call me Greg. That should fit better for me right, mistress?"

"Again; don't call me mistress...." she warns the vampire again but he only keeps bowing showing a smile on his fave. He only wishes to see her happy and nothing else will change that about his thought in mind.

"If you wish Mistress.." he said hearing her groan annoyed now but looks away to move from the vampire.

Samuel hides a chuckle at what he saw and finishes setting up the fire and his own lodgings."well greg i think this is going to be a long year. Youre the night watch wake me up if you need help." Samuel said with a laugh as he set a pot of water on the edge of the fire. He had made a small fire pit put of stones and the pot rested on it. Greg looked hungrily at rachel and said nothing and did nothing. He didnt much care for the joke samuel told and didnt wish to justify iy with a response.

Samuel was getting the dried veggies and meat out to boil into a stew. Rachel looked at him and the fire danced in her eyes. "Is stew all you know how to make?" She asks in a curious tone and samuel shrugged.

"The only thing i can make without a kitchen yes. I eat alot of meat. When i travel its all i wish to eat. Stew gives me something else with it." He said smiling and humming a song.

"Well, seems like u must know a little different for stew." she looks to see him only shrug again and smile.

"Only when it's traveling." he chuckled. She only shook her head but looks at the fire still with seeing Greg only keeping a eye just in case out.

Greg, or Gregorio as he revealed when called greg by samuel, was not pleased with the current situation. Any attempt to feed or flirt with rachel was slapped down and samuel remained silent for any remark no matter how cold or cruel. Greg keeps watch ignoring the talk about food. Unfortunately for him nothing happened that night and samuel and rachel were allowed to sleep.

Before dawn greg woke samuel saying that it was nearly dawn and he needed to retreat and remain hidden by the sun. Samuel looked at the sky and discovered that the clouds and trees that block the sun were very thin. He seemed yo remember no clouds the day before then shook that away since it was cloudy the day before

He got up and started a small cooking fire for breakfast while greg morphs into a bat and hides in one of the packs. Rachel woke up to the smell of the leftover stew being reheated

She looks around seeing nothing else going on to notice him now starting to do something else. "Well, morning to you." She rubs her eye while seeing him only show a smile as he mixes the warming up stew from last night.

"Same back at you. I hope you are hungry even if it's the same thing from last night." he said mixing the stew in the pot. Rachel stood up to stretch but seeing him looking around once more or seeing him only starting to keep on mixing.

He looked at her and his stare makes her flush. He was getting a good look at her face just as she woke up to discover her mood. Maybe she wasnt awake enough to have a mood yet so he keeps stirring and looks back at thw pot as the stew loosens up and starts to mix better.

She didn't say anything while he was mixing up the stew but it was a quiet morning for them. Even with George sleeping for the day, he'll be awake again later tonight. She did wish he would understand she's 16 and who knows how old he is. All she did was ignore the thought and moved on. She didn't like it when mystical creatures flirts with her because she wants to feel a special bound with someone more special to her.

Samuel was mixing the steaming stew and drooling as he watched it. He was drooling out of the corner of his mouth with a dazed look on his face as he slurps. "Mmmmhmhm its almost done. Oh please hurry im starving. " he said talkimg to himself and then it started to boil and his daze vanished. "Soon soon now any minute." He said giggling and mixing faster.

Rachel blinks hearing his words but she only snickered a bit that Samuel looks wondering why she was laughing at him. She looks away smiling but he keeps on mixing the stew.

He grabs their bowls and fills them with the stew and it seemed thicker and fuller than before. He sipped it as he waited for it to cool and blew on it. She looks at him still and a hungry look hit her eye. She hoped it would cool off soon so she could enkoy her breakfast.

She looks away quickly feeling flushed but she shook it out of her mind. She's too young to be thinking of that because of her age. Maybe when she's older, she might but for now she forgot it. For a while, she lets out a sigh then goes ahead to begin eating her own stew feeling the hot warmth of it flowing down her throat

He was eating his and half finished when he looked at her feeling her gaze. He thoughtbshe must have been hungry to look like that and eas glad that they were eating to satisfy it. He chuckles looking at her.

They just kept eating after a while but said nothing in some points. The stew was still good but they remained quiet not saying anything else.

He always watched her. Sometimes he would suddenly look away and glance around like a surprised prey animal. But seeing nothing he would relax and rsume looking at her. He ate slowly and she felt his gaze blushing worse as it stayed on her.

She had a fleeting thought of a side trip if a village was on their way but that was chased away when for the third time he looked around she grew curious. "What is it?" She says wanting to know why he was acting so nervous.

"Maybe paranoia maybe nothing, maybe a night creature. Some can act in daytime but most choose not to." He said to her putting his bowl down. "Im going to go look around a bit. Keep your ears open for noise. It seems too quiet here."

She had to agree it was too quiet she hadnt heard a bird al morning since she woke up. And ina forest that was strange.

"I'll be right back alright? Stay here and be safe." he sees her nod agreeing with him but she watches him leave to look around.

Being alone was quieter and every thing she did seemed loud. She hears nothing around her and that was a good sign. She also saw no movement that was also a good sign. She knew the campire was sleeping or resting and didnt have to worry about him. She did worry about samuel. She had grown find of him since they met and she didnt want her friend hurt.

He was gone for an hour or so long enough for thw sun to drift overhead and start falling past lunch.

"..................." She looked silent remaining silent for a while but she didn't do anything staying where she was.

She thought he had been gone too long when the sun moved the shadows lengthened and almost an eternity passed as the eerie forest stayed silent. She shivered as the isolation creeped in around her when a sudden noise startled her several yards away.

She jumped and readied a spell aiming at the noise and preparing to fire when the shaling bushes burst ooen with a gust of leaves and samuel had returned. He looked scuffed and he was short of breath. She lowered the spell and released the power harmlessly. She was relieve dhe returned and went over to help him.

"Did you find anything?" She asks as she got closer. He shook his head.

"Only a fork in the trail, i followed each one for an hour to see what general direction they go and see if there was evidence of night creatures. Were leaving the forest behind tomorrow and crossing a plain. We might come across a vilage after that but not likely one that cam shelter us or even trust strangers... i think." He said and she tilted her heaf.

"You think? dont you know?" She asks and he shook his head.

"Things have changed since i went through here last the night creatures have carved new trails over game trails and mixed up the normal flow of the forest the trail i knew is now not thw fastest and im exploring a new route."

"So youve been to this place we're going before?" She asks him and he nods.

"I came back from there when we met." And she gulped if what he said was true then in only two years the path to their next destination was changed so much that a regular traveller like him was taking time to discover the path mwant that the land must be in chaos.

"Well, at least we have some idea on what to do and go. I wonder if we can figure out some plan later as he travel." She mutters thinking about this but this made her really worry. If Samuel was thinking of things this way then would it mean she was wrong about it later? Knowing the outcome of their travel might mean something else.

"So should we go ahead and start leaving?" she asked as he was sat down with her help to try recovering.

"We will but not right now. I need time to rest up for a while then after that, we can go ahead and leave. For now, we can pack up what we have for now." he sighs looking to see Rachel blink but agrees with it. Knowing how much it takes for a long travel, this made her only want to pack and leave as quickly as possible. To get out of this scary eerie place so she begins packing up some times while Samuel rested for a second.

Wbike he rested she started packing up everything she took out to read. He watched her and when she was finiabed he stood up and they set off again.

Soon darting lights were seen and soft childlike giggles that were creepy in this kind of environment. He wa son guard and several miles later a group of bright glowing fairies jump out at them. They bith jump back and tje faries seal thwir mouths. "Shush sh. Not a sound. Come with us our king wishes to speak to you." They say tapping him amd samuel rolls his eyes. He didnt knkw what to expect but this wasnt an evil encounter

She didn't say anything after seeing these fairies but wonders if it's possible to see such things like this. That made her unsure about things or wondering what could happen later. Samuel and Rachel just keeps quiet walking with them or following after the fairies that was leading them to a under level place.

It was no palace. No jewels or magic, just a large group of tiny people surrounding ine with a crown. They were all acting like they jist got there and it was easy to tell that the faries dont normally visit here. This was not their home

"Monster slayer and magic weilder. I came from my lands to warn you of the danger ahead. I the king of the fairies jave come to make you aware of a plot to destroy you befoee you gather the relics you seek. And enter the castle of evil. The relics are not where they used to be and the places the used to rest are traps and monster dens."

This was what samuel had expected when je discovered the second relic in the necromancer laboratory. "I suspected as such. Is the blessed oil still in place?" He akss and the tiny king nodded.

"Indeed it is. The vampire stake is hidden from all magical sightbut it is still close to its original resting place. Be careful our time is done we must go else the forces of chaos will be alerted of our presence." And with that thw little king and all his people vanish with a pop.

"That was....unsettling." Rachel mutters hearing the words but she figures it was going to be more challenging now after so long. Of course Samuel didn't say anything else but he only looks seeing her just remain quiet. Knowing this was going to be something as Greg still remains silent not wanting to cause anything wrong either way.
