She spelled out seals that would interfere with nightcreatures and a sshe learned more about them she learned of many spells hlthat could numb their senses and in some cases remove the soul inside of the creature and return it to hell. Forgemasters she learned called souls from hell to a corpse on earth that became a night creature. They could choose which soul and what creature it would become but it was all bound by magic and magic was her specialty.

She could disrupt the bonds and she co tines spreading these seals replacing them or moving g them to keep the forgemaster busy erasing them while she would search tracers she left behind for evidence on who or what was performing the magic she was interfering with.

"That could work...but I still should be careful even so." She mutters to herself looking at the though but Rachel sighed thinking a bit more. If the spirits were like that, night creatures still were pretty dangerous.

Samuel came back unexpectedly and she jumped when he slammed the door to their new room. "Stupid forgemasters. Seems like as soon as I clear out a nest a new one shows up." He said and gulps down some milk.

"How do you knkw its a forgemaster?' She asks and he tossed a marked hide on the floor.

"The magic that makes monsters from devilforging leaves an identifying mark to distinguish them from monsters of the same breed that have also been forged. Now I have to decide if I have to stay here and search or keep hunting the packs and nests." He said and she gulped.

"Working on what?" He asks looked sharply at her

"Ahem.. on the forgemaster. I discovered one in town... and I've been... trying to stop them...." she said expecting him to be upset or angry. A wide smile broke out on his face as she looked up at him.

Samuel was still on the hunt and was gone for two whole days while she prepared her spells to activate an anti magical barrier much like the type she erected around Samuel's home. She used the counter charms and forgemasters efforts to stop her in the spell working them into its structure so they wouldn't interfere with her magic.

Late one night she was performing the final ritual to trigger the barrier and nullify all magic but hers Samuel returned. He was tired and ragged. The hunt cost him dearly as he had told her he lost several villagers to the pack trying to hold them off. The packs were growing more powerful and harder to deal with as the forgemaster was becoming desperate to finish his work.

She healed him slowly and held back her desire to be one with him again as she explained that she was nearly finished and Samuel could make his move that night after she was ready. The antimagical barrier in theory would disrupt all magic except divine power and her own.any creature or practitioner inside would be powerless with most creatures turning to ashes and bones.

She knew the spell would be powerful but ready at the same time. This way, she can hope it will be enough to fight against the man she's seen to what he's done. But she hopes Samuel will get some rest while nothing bad happens.

She finished and the air popped. Then there was a strange vibration through her body. She felt her magic but no other magic even nature was cut off. She giggles "got you now" and quickly goes to confront the forgemaster.

With effort she tracked him down watching his horde dissolve into bones and ashes. He was angry and upset trying to undo some of the effects by defacing one of her runes. It didn't work as he couldn't interfere and she caught him from behind with a binding spell.

The spell she used was designed to get tighter every second until removed or the prisoner was dead. She never let him see her keeping hidden and watching his struggle and smirking at how pointless it was. She waitiled until there was a faint gurgle from the forgemaster and he expired and was eventually cut in half bu his bonds. She burned the corpse so no one could pick up his magic and learn from it from his spirit and she smiled returning to the room. Samuel would be home later that night and should be safe now that the horde of monsters leader was dead.

As she waited she noticed it was taking a long time she removed the ritual spell keeping it ready to go again if she needed and waited for him. The hours ticked on and she started to get worried since he would normally come back by now.

After pacing for an hour she got fed up with waiting and went to look for him. He should have been right back. When she got to the edge of the village it was the dead on night and she could see his hunting party returning. Many were wounded including him. While the majority of his party were badly hurt he only had a few scratches. When he saw her he shakes his head and she gulped.

Her spell killed one but there was another. And that one was in control of the horde outside the town. She started to silently bereate herself about not noticing a second forgemaster and she helped him carry some of his party back to the inn for treatment. Keeping her powers hidden was hard but now things were the same.

Later he was talking about what happened and how the packs outside had gathered into a small horde. His team was not expecting them to be so close to town and were unprepared when they surprised the horde. He didn't go I to details about the battle but she could tell he was exhausted by the struggle.

"You couldn't fight like you were used to and they got hurt..." she said reading his face and he nodded.

"I was coming back to warn you that there were two but I didn't need to since you took the inside agent out. We can survive a seige IF I was outside the walls fighting and you were inside using your spells to hit as many as possible."

"But I don't want to be separated I can't just leave you out there on your own" She protested and he smiles.

"But I won't be on my own ill have the other forgemaster with me." He thought he was funny she didn't.

"Yoy mean you plan to use me and the town as bait for the horde while you fight the forgemaster one on one... thats... better... I guess." She said and bites her lip in a pout. She wanted to be by his side and yet he was asking her to do the hardest part of the whole thing. Reveal her magic to people who were scared of it to defend them. Not only that but to let him go fight a being who could make monsters out of corpses.

"Its all I can think of on short notice I trust you. I know you can do this. Just keep the horde here and keep them away from the walls that spell from earlier should work." He said and she looked sharply at him

"How do you know I can use it again?" She asked him and he winked.

"Because I know you are a powerful witch who always prepares a back up spell in case the first one fails. I've seen your luggage." He said and she flushed. He was right of course but the face that he went through her bags after they got here unsettled her because she thought she knew all his whereabouts and activities but somehow that got by her.

The horde at the village was nothing compared to the trio of beasts with the forgemaster. The fight was grueling for all involved and the walls finally caught fire and had to be abandoned after 2 hours. Pulling back she raised her barrier a second time and caught most of the horde inside. The Ines outside couldn't get in and the ones inside lost their ability to remain on this plane of existence returning to the hell wence they came. She panted hoping he was alright but looks around seeing and hearing the fighting. Whatever is happening it was going to get worse seeing the fire burning as the barrier as some was locked inside to leave them banging or screeching. She hopes he was alive. He better be alive!

There was a moment where he was close to death as the multiple enemies closed in about him. The whips were not as powerful on the forgemaster who was human but in the devils he controlled they were potent. But they didn't have wills of their own so hurting them wouldn't make them fall back retrat or stop and attack they were launching. He rolled and ran trying to break out of the ring they had him penned in with their bodies and attacks.

The forgemaster laughed a cruel joyous sound and one of the devils turned to ashes as it's core was destroyed. The great stone one was beset by a barage of lashes chasing it to explode leaving the devil type and the fairy type with the forgemaster. Panting Samuel was nearly drained and wounded as he fought on.

At the town the creatures were getting desperate to fulfill their orders and destroy the town and stopped with the barrier she put up. It was a lucky thing she had it powered by the sigils she set up and not herself or it would have broken by now. The remaining horde were only a tenth of the original force that assaulted the village and the people were busy putting out fires. "Hurry up Samuel don't be dead" she said as she winced from the powerful blows the creatures used on her barrier. The barrier would ripple but not weaken and any sign of damage was on the sigil themselves. Some of the beasts broke their bodies on the barrier and died trying to get in but the more intelligent ones chose to wait snarling as time was running out.

The night was passing slowly and Samuel managed to crush the fairy devil that was distracting him and the last remaining devil was far more powerful than any of the others. It was fast and flew like the fairy was tough and durable like the stone and the cunning was more Tha. Expected for a mindles creature. The forge master ran in weilding a spear and was hoping to transform Samuel into a night creature upon his death.

Samuel ducked and dodged before lashing the spear that the devil was using and climbing on it. It flew in a bizarre way trying to throw him off and Samuel put his morning star in his mouth and used his free hand to rip the core out of the devil. It exploded and sent him flying. Coughing Samuel got up and the duel between him and the forgemaster began again. He dodged the spear ls long sweeping strikes and quick powerful jabs lashing out every change he got. The blessed chain caught the forgemaster in the side and th3 more ING star got his shoulder. Not being a night creature the morning star didn't have the same combustion effect but the blessed chain of the incomplete vampire killer cut deep.

Samuel wasn't winning or losing it was an even match and he was guickly growing exhausted.

She still worries for him but hopes Samuel will pull through. Even with the battle, she still worries of him in hopes this will pass soon or later on. It had to since she didn't want to lose him either.

The forgemaster threw a knife at Samuel as he jumped back to avoid the spear it embedded itself in his shoulder with the incomplete vampire killer. Samuel let out a roar of pain as he was pinned against a tree with the force of the throw. He dodged the spear by rolling pushing the knife deeper into his arm and he groans as the injury was aggravated

Feeling a fit of desperate he lashed out with his full power enough that rachel could feel him all the way form the village and it worried her. When the morning star cracked on the air the Shockwave sent the forgemaster into another tree splintering it. With a heavy groan Samuel ripped the knife out of his shoulder and held his arm to his side. Panting he looked for the forgemaster and saw him standing up with a wounded leg. The forgemaster had enough of this and split the spear in two.

It came apart forming two shorter weapons a half spear and a short staff. The closed distance mad either Har for Samuel to get a decent lash with the morning g star and the vampire killer was in his hand unable to be used. Leaping back and lashing became samuels only method of attack. He got a few good hits in woundi gthe enraged forgemaster but the man didn't care. He only became wilder and more savage.

Samuel won the battle of wills but the battle to survive just begun.
