The Hylian duo.

"Long ago in the time of the gods the world was created. Some time after a crack appeard and demons surged forth into the peaceful world violating the laws and order of the land seeking the golden power left behind by the creators. The ruler of time gathered all faithful life to her side and waged a war against the demon lord and his king's forces only to discover he was merely the weapon of the demon king. The ruler of time wounded and weakened in the struggle faced the demon king weilding his weapon. The clash was unspeakable and in time the demon king was sealed away and his forces scattered to the winds. Wounded badly and sensing that such a seal would not last long the ruler of time formed a plan. She would become mortal and use the power of the golden power to destroy the demon king forever. Just as the plan came to fruition the demon lord captured the ruler of time and took her to the Era just after the demon King was sealed and revived his master. The hero chosen by the ruler of time faced them in a manner similar to the ruler of time and utterly defeated the demon king destroying his weapon and sealing his consciousness within the blade the ruler of time weilded. Since then the land has been plagued by monsters and times of darkness and prosperity come and go like the tide. This is the beginning of our kingdom young princess and one day you like the goddess who rules time will choose a hero and together you will seal the evil like my grandmother did before you. This is your sacred duty." The young princess was woken early and taken to a previously forbidden room wherein was archived the entire history of her kingdom. She never heard the story and her mother the queen revealed it to her and instructed her to read every tome in this hidden sanctum to learn the true history and remember what no other in the land save the sages and their decendants knew.

"All must be kept secret and only told to the hero you choose. This library will show you the qualities that all the past heroes have making your choice easier" the princess looked up at her mother only 10 years old and promised to do her duty. For 9 long years she studied the stories and realized she was reliving them as her past lives. The hero she saw she grew to love deeply and his courage and determination kept her going through the dark times of the stories.

Over the 9 years her kingdom was falling into ruin in the same way it had before every resurgence of evil and those stories were her sanctuary. In time when she was 12 she found a young boy only 10 who shared the qualities of the hero from the past eras and quickly became friends with him.

She loved watching him practice with his fathers sword and even with a shield. She marveled at how creative he was and innovative to solve puzzles and help others in their time of need. She commanded her servants and soldiers to allow him to see her if he wished and leave her alone with him after escorting her to his home for play dates. As she grew into the most beautiful woman he grew into the greatest knight in her kingdom and she revealed he would be her chosen knight and constant companion.

He said little and listened to her worries and comforted her when she was aching for the people of the past and present. There was little she could do as monster raids and kidnappings were increasing while the knights were becoming less effective at driving them off.

On the eve of her 18th birthday she gave her body and soul to her chosen hero and the long night was the most blissful she ever knew. Heated passion and strength as well as an honest confession of love between them she was completely fulfilled with all her wishes save one. The end of the dark times and return of prosperity.

His quest soon began to discover the hidden golden power and in the night she tossed and turned. Evil had come into her castle at last and she was spirited away by her own soldiers who obeyed the king of monsters commands to capture her. She sent put a desperate telepathic plea for aid only to discover only her hero remained and all other faithful were slain including her mother and father. Until she was coronation she was still only a princess. And in her own dungeon she was bound and tormented by beasts trying to break her mind and control her.

Thus begins our tale as her chosen hero the young man link rode to the castle to rescue her. She would never break no matter what was done to her for only one had ever dominated her will.

Link returned to the castle finding it unguarded as the sun rose. Thus disturbed him deeply and he moved into the courtyard,the throneroom, and followed the cries of torment from his princess as she was calling out. He reached the dungeon and discovered a horde of monsters performing a ritual where she was violated over a magic circle and humiliated as they tried to break her. In a rage he cut them all down using the power he cultivated in his youth the wisdom his trials against monsters gave him and his courage to never back down.

No monster stood against him and the ritual was stopped as he grabbed her and pulled her to safety. Weak and forsaken by her kingdom she wept in his arms as he carried her far away to the forest.

"Thank you link. I don't knkw how ill ever repay you." She said after her grief eased. He said nothing holding her and sharing her tears. He was crying for her suffering and pain. "Its gone.. my whole kingdom is gone. There's nothing left my people are to suffer as I did and I can't help them." She said despairing

"We can" He said and she hiccupped. He rarely spoke and when he did she knew he meant it. " together we can save them its my quest remember?" He said and she smiled as her grief was replaced with hope and a small smile lighted her face once more.

"OH link you always know what to say." She said and he held her as she recovered from her ordeal.

The next morning because they rested all day and night she was better and he was already up. He saw him stretch and a sight she only saw once was repeated. She giggles remembering the night of bliss a year before and she remembered his promise to love her forever.

"Zelda... we need to continue. One of the seals in in these woods and they are the fabled lost woods. Many creatures of darkness roam here. Mostly undead.

"Very well hero. Shall we be off?" She said standing and fixing her torn garments so they covered her more completely. She cut the rips and made new covering for herself out of them a tube top and some short leggings. For the first time in her life she had no frills and she felt comfortable and had free movement.

They set off deeper into the dark forest as the fog begins to rise from the earth and a melody comes and goes getting louder or quieter.

She knew from this journey it was going to be dangerous but she will keep brave for her kingdom and for Link. The two just traveled through the forest, seeing it was a bit damp and dark but that might due to what is happening right now? She didn't think too much about it and only for it to be better over time.

She started to notice the melody more and getting louder as he seemed to follow it.

"Link what are you doing don't you know that mysterious music is a trap?" She asks getting worried at the thicker fog and the louder music.

"I've heard stories of the music preventing people from getting lost. These stories came from people who were lost for days avoiding the music but followed it in the end to a clearing whre they found food shelter and a way out." He said and she gripped his hand tighter.

"If we stay lost here we will become staff's you knkw that right?" She asks and he nodded.

"Trust me I was sent on a mission here once before we met. Have you ever heard of the skull child?" He asks her returning her grip. She nodded.

"I have he's a mischievous imp who plays pranks on traveller's and vanishes. Why?" She asks and he smiles.

"Hes the one playing the music. To lead people to food shelter or a way out. He helped me out before and asked me to come back later. Well I'm back and I'm sure he will remember me. " link said and zelda was still nervous as the music grew louder.

After a couple hours following the music the6 come to a clearing with a stump and a headless tree. Light was shining through the patches where the trees were missing and sure enough the skull kid was there. He was sitting and playing an ocarina as a golden and black pair of fries danced around him.

"Their here there here" chimed the gold one with a bell noise

"Here for fun for fun" the black one said circling at super speed.

The music stopped and the imp hopped down.

"Hmm grownups this time but one I met before. You that hero boy? Who's the other one?" He said and zelda was a little offended.

"This is the princess I'm the hero. Still waiting for your friends?" Link asks and the skull kid jumps up to the headless tree and dances

"Nope not anymore one just came back and these two are here. They are." He said slowing his outlandish dance and turning to look right at zelda. "Princess you mean THAT princess. The one who keeps coming back to life?" He asks and the fries dance around her.

"She smells weird" the black one said

"She's a princess they smell like that" said the gold one

"I like her she's nice" the black one said circling her head

"You dont know her she could be suspicious." The gold one said and skull kid blew a sharp high note stunning the fairest and calling them to his side.

"Now now be nice remember what the hero said long ago? We need to be nice to others and help them if their lost. Are you lost? Where are you going?" He asks and zelda spoke this time.

"We seek the temple deep in these woods our quest is to find and purify the temples and restore light to the kingdom." She said it in her most royal manner but the skull kid didn't notice

"Ooooh the temple that's a dark place now but there ls light here. Stay here eat and play with me." He said and zelda started to speak to decline but Link stopped her.

"We can play on our way. Will you lead us to the temple and back out of these woods?" He asks pulling out his own ocarina a gift from a boy in the castle town.

"Play with me and follow my notes and I'll take you were you want to go" He said and he begins to play the same melody that echoes in the forest.

Link plays with him copying the notes and soon they were both playing the song of the forest. It was a lively tune and the fairies danced wildly loving it as skull kid hopped down and started walking.

Link and skullkid keep playing the song and zelda noticed Link was very good at the song. He said noting not wanting to distract him when after an hour of walking in a straight line they see a clearing and the entrance of a maze skull kid ends the song on a low note and stops.

"Here temple entrance. Can go further too dangerous but hero can go. Free the forest and we will lead you out... if you come back" He let out a creepy echoing laugh vanishing in the trees. The song was ended and a pair of howls split the air.

"Wolfos!" Zelda said gripping links shoulders as she got behind him and hides. He pulls out his knights sword and the traveling shield he wore and got ready for a fight. The two wolfos leap from the top of the maze and run around them quickly trying to catch them off guard. Link was patient and waited for one to strike. When it did he blocked it and used his jumping attack to cut its back in half.

It howled again and erupted in flames as it died returning to the malice that spawned it while its packmate attacked zelda. He blocked and repeated the action only for the wolf's to block him and claw him. He blocked the claws only just in time while zelda fell backwards from when he pushed her. It wa so fast she barely had time to react.

He blocked another attack aimed at him and cut the wolf's down with a more accurate jumping attack. With the wolf's defeated zelda stood up quickly and dusted her leggings off panting in fear excitement and dare I say a bit of wonder at how fast he was to react. He did shove her hard and she liked it rough.

"Well that was fast.. let's get going before more show up." She said and strode into the maze. Link was wiping his blade in the grass when he saw her enter the maze

"No wait" He said and rushed after her. The maze closed behind them as a stone cliff rose out of the ground sealing them off. "Damit... I forgot to tell you the maze..."

"Closes on anyone who enters yes I know. I'm sorry I got excited Link." She said and looked around there was only one path and it seemed to wind like a snake. "Whats in here?" She asks and he shakes his head

"Not sure. Moblins? Stalfos? Wolfos? Maybe even mad deku scrubs. " he said and he keeps his shield up and ready. He was shaking for aoment he was scared she would be here by herself and she could sense it form him.

"I'll be more careful" She said and they move on through the maze. Sure enough they turn a corner and a nut comes flying at them he blocked it and it exploded in a flash blinding them both as it collided with a second nut. A third came and bounced back and she hears a squeak then a slash as Link dispatched the ambusher. As she looked she saw it was a mad deku and she noticed it didn't fade like the wolfos it crumbled into mulch.

Link pressed his hand to the soul and realized there were more from the prints. "Hmmm moblin..moulin... scrubs... no wolfos tho..." he muttered to himself and then continues around the next corner she was about to turn it when he came pelting around it "RUUUN!" he grabbed her and pulled her with him just as a tall puglfaced muscled pig came charging a them with a spear. It raised the spear and threw it at them which Link dodged and it hit the wall. He turned the corner and the moulin collected its spear but couldn't find them and went back where it came from


"Haa moblins... haa dumb as a brick but strong. Lucky this path turns twice or he would seen where we went." He said and she gulped. He was really scared of them but surely he fought them before.

"Haven't you faced them before?" She asks and he nods.

"Not pleasant. They are tough creatures and if they spear you and pin you it's all over. Bombs arrows and maybe a lucky slash with a sword will kill them but they are fast and charge like boars. " He said a d she nodded.

"I'll create an opening and you kill it. They're not smart right so we can use this over and over to fi ish any that come our way." She said a d he nodded

"Yes... unless we run onto one weildinga club. Those are cheifs and much tougher and more dangerous." He said and he got ready. He only had his sword and shield no other weapons and she went to be the decoy. It saw her and shared with a roar and she sees why they were so scary. It closed a 29 meter gap in 2 seconds with its spear out. She dove behind Link who slashed it and it burned into malice that faded away.

She noticed that every creature that burns away into malice was returning to their master to be reborn later as one of her books said. She shivered knowing there were more dangers and she got a flash of clairvoyance showing more moblins mad dekus and a chieftain waiting at rhe gates of the temple. As her vision crossed the temple threashhikd she sensed a dark power so corrupt the land itself was stained by it. Only by killing the evil inside could the temple and the land be purified and it was incredibly powerful.

She held her head and grabbed his shoulder to steady herself as he caught her. He knew she had a vision and didn't ask about it. "Let's go" He said softly and she nodded. They repeat the process with her being the decoy 3 times and he blocked all the deku Nuts that the mad dekus spit at them. There weren't too any but he was getting tired and she was nearing her limit before she needed to rest.

Then they hear it. The thumping of a massive club on the ground and the Shockwave it caused. The chieftain was the inky one left and it was turning corners and smashing its club down eliminating everything in its path. Except the walls of the maze. Then it turned a corner and froze. Link pushed zelda back and dodged the Shockwave one after another getting close enough to bring the cheif moblin down.

It took 3 well placed slashes to kill it and when it purred away there was a powerful burst of air as the exit opened and the burning corpse left behind a handful of rupees. Link picked them up and zelda suddenly felt the dark aura as they came into sight of the temple of the forest.

This was all crazy to Zelda and yet, she didn't say too much while they were progressing. It did worry her but she knew it was going to get worse later on.

As they enter the temple she shudders as the dark aura washed over them. Cutting them off from the outside. The once holy site was now a twisted and evil place. The spirits were tortured and begging for help and restoration. They enter the main enterance chamber and she gasps. It was nothing like her childhood.

The growth was out of control and writhing like demon plants. Some spirits had turned into the evil poes and were drifting around lazily basking in the evil aura. The wolfos inside were ravenous huge monsters compared to the 2 outside. One by one he would cut them down and she would have to summon her power to block a stray attack from hitting him.

She keeps close to him as he effortlessly solved the puzzles gaining entry into the deeper sections. He found the artifact of the forest and she noticed it was purified by the death of monsters he killed to obtain it. The forest medallion held the power of wind and clean air started to return as the evil spell on the temple weakened from their progress. She began to feel a bit more at ease but wanted to leave.

Without warning a pack of lost spirits appear and snatch her away as she screams and falls into the dark portal they used. For her she was swallowed by darkness and seperate from him only to be bound in the final chamber. The creature was a mutated wolfos with plants growing out of it. Then a dark voice spoke to her.

"Welcome your highness. I'm surprised you came in that makes my work that much easier. Your power will spread the curses out across all hyrule." The voice came form the boss but wasn't the boss talking.

"I'll never give up. Link will be here shortly and your power is nothing to him" She said defiantly maybe a bit cliché.

"That may be. But until then enjoy the suffering of the spirits as I do" the voice faded away and the plants start to wrap her up slowly growing to make her a part of the wall like the spirits that were supposed to inhabit this room. She saw the forest people bound as she was and rooted in the walls their faces twisted in agony and their voices fading.


From links point of view he exclaimed loudly trying to catch her but missed. He had to focus and finish the puzzles quickly using the medallion to solve the puzzles. He soon realized he had greater control of the wind that ne first thought and it could be used in different ways.

He fought more creatures taken over by demon plants and changed by the evil aura of the place. The puzzles weren't a challenge to him and soon he could hear her crying out in pain as her body was wrapped and the roots were digging into her flesh slowly binding her and trying to corrupt her like the forest people who were starting to become monsters.

The giant boss paid her no need prowling around like a caged beast. Then the sealed door opened and link stepped through. The door closed behind to prevent escape and the grotesque creature roared and howled. Link stepped I to action using the medallion to create a tornado that ripped at the plants and caused their cores to expose themselves. The cores belched toxic gas to counter the purified air and he took aim with a bow he found and shot them off one by one.

The great wolf lunged slamming him against the wall as the roots start to dig I to him. The wind blew the wolf off him as he pulled free of the roots and slashed the chest of the beast. It howled and he was slapped by a toxic claw. She had he rmouth covered and couldn't cheer him on but she knew he had to focus to use the medallion. He blasted it again cleansing the gas and exposing the cores again only this time they were hardened so he arrows didn't work.

He got hit again and slashed the cores with his sword. It took all his strength but he broke the shells and expose the inner cores so he could shoot them again. They moved fast and he was hard pressed to keep going as he was dodging now and being g much more careful. She could tell he couldn't take another hit.

He missed the final core and they all regrow forcing hi. To focus on the medallion again and this time he managed to avoid getting hit as he weaves his way around the attacks slashing each core. After the final core was destroyed the toxic gas faded and light burst forth from inside the creature.

With the evil purged the roots turned to ashes freeing the forest people and zelda. The creature turned out to be one of the forest people the one in charge of maintaining the temple. " Thank you hero for freeing us. With the curse dispelled this temple will shine with light again. The people of the trees all sing with gratitude for your help."

Zelda watched as the forest people send light into the guardian and the guardian huts Link with the light increasing his strength. "Fair princess. We apologize for your ordeal we needed your power to preserve our people and return them to normal. Forgive us." They say ti her and she nods.

"Its okay I could feel your pain I'm glad it's over."

"Fare well hero and princess the path of light will guide you out." One by one the first people vanish leaving behind a glowing beacon that shines through the roof.

"Let's go link..Link... there are other temples to free." She said walking into the light and returning to the surface

He gave a nod and follows her so they would be out and free from the temple. Their was still more to find of course so it leads to which one they go to next.

The light took them to the entrance of the temple and the curse on the forest was gone. The maze looked less evil and was much simpler. No monsters were I. The area and some spirits were actually flying around joyfully. The air was fresh a d clean and the mist was greatly reduced in potency.

The lost woods were still the lost woods but they were more hospitable now. She led the way able to use her spiritual powers to find the correct path this time as her fears for her kingsoms future were now gone. Only the true hero could have done what he did. And that gave her a renewed sense of purpose.

As they walk back through the forest they soon her snorting and grumbling. Link puts a hand in her chest in haste and pulls her into the roots of great trees with their backs to the tree to hide. She immediately noticed his arms were squeezing her breasts hard and his hand was over her mouth as he quietly hissed in her ear. "Don't make a sound listen." Trying to ignore her pounding heart form how she was grabbed and being held she does as he says.

"... telling you *snort* the others are missing beewee." a piglike voice said and she recognized it as a moblin.

"Bwee *snort* and I told you *grumble* I want them dead so where are they and where are the *ornk* others?" A deeper larger voice spoke and the smaller one squealed as more pig noises erupt. They were all scared.

"Great one *squeal* we don't know the shadow gone no bodies *oink snort* don't know what got them" it seemed to be a great moblin addressing his followers. There was a smack and more squeals erupt. She could almost count the voices but her head was pounding g with the pressure on her chest.

"Bweee useless the lot of you. I can't *snort* report this to the dark one bwee he will have e all our heads" the great moblin said and the squealing continued. "We oink gonna finish our hunt oink this go to the village bwee the place up good" He commanded and the squeals and oinking moved off as what sounded like 20 or more tramped off through the woods. Including heavy footfalls of a moblin 3 times as large as the chieftain they encountered in the maze.

He stayed still listening but the pressure was getting too much for zelda and her while body was throbbing. She pushed his arms off her and pulled away panting and flushed. Only then did link realize what he did and he looked ashamed.

"Sorry... I just..." he started to say and she turned away making him fall silent.

"Its okay. You only did it to help but now I'm all bothered down there.. I hope you take responsibility later. But first we have to save the village. Cmon let's go." She said to him a bit harshly but she was hiding her desire to tale him then and there.

They were behind the band of moblins so when they arrived at the village it was being sacked and the people were being dragged around violated or beaten as groups worked to get her to raze the village. The squeals were much louder and mixed with the cries yells and screams of the people.

Link charged I to action right away cutting down moblins who didn't expect to see a new fighter. She followed gathering people they helped behind her as she watched link fighting. Many of the moblins were distracted asking them easy marks but some mostly the ones in groups of 2or 3 had enough time to fight back.

The clashing weapons drew the attention of other moblins and seeing zelda and the group she was leading one blew on a horn. The loud call summoned all the moblins to where li k was and it almost looked like he would be overcome. Zelda group helped gather wounded or traumatized and secret them off into the forest when a house burst and a hulking beast squeals and roars at the same time. A battle challenge.

The great moblin was easily 3 times as tall as link and 7 times as wide. It's huge tusked mouth had mismatched teeth and it's hulking muscles were surrounded by thick blubber skin. He was filthy and weilded a greatspear in one hand and a rough thick sheild made of beaten iron. It's garments were thick animal hides and it was adorned with skulls from every race in hyrule. The other moblins flee from link circling them both as the moblin bellowed a challenge

Link answered with his own bellow. It wasn't as loud nor as threatening but he stood his ground. The huge moblin took a leap that seemed impossible for one his size and girth forcing link to roll away to avoid getting hit. The strikes were swift and relentless keeping link on the defensive as he dodged and struggled trying to find an opening to exploit.

The lesser moblins cheer their leader on and widen the circle as the two fight. One strike hit link and he caught the blow on his shield getting thrown into the ring. The moblins pushed him back towards their boss and link nearly lost his head as the spear came at him. Link was able to stab several times delivering shallow wounds that were ignored.

The villagers and zelda look on in awe as the two battle. Link was getting worn out but avoiding injury the moblins jeer a d taunt him calling him weak and cowardly. The great moblin was only getting faster as he was wounded more and more. Finally link got a good clean deep slice on the belly of the great moblin and that only anger3d the monster.

It threw what ever plan of attack it had away and charged relentlessly moving faster and swinging his greatspear faster and harder. Link was already hard pressed and was only barely able to avoid damage. He took out his bow and started fired arrows as a distraction and the great moblin raised his shield blocking them but losing a little momentum. Link took advantage of that to drop the bow and draw his blade leaping at the moblin with a jump attack.

The blow hit the great moblin on the head and cleaved him in two. Just as the spear stabbed his side Horrified the moblins freeze then as one mind they scatter and flee. Link falls to his knees and pants hard nursing his side where the spear got him the danger was over and the huge corpse burned away leaving the should which was burned into a much cleaner form and the skulls.

As link panted and the moblins vanished the villagers slowly come back shock awe and trauma were written on their faces. Some houses were torn apart but not all. Zelda crouched at links side and dug in her bag for a potion. She had 3 at some point but only the bottles remain. She searched for the last and found it laying him on her lap and pouring it down his throat.

The potion healed him and she hugged him close as he recovered. "So reckless... you could have died...." she said as her mixed feelings overflow.

"Knew I could take one hit princess... had to make it count." He said and she restrained herself from kissing him because there were people watching. The village elder approached them holding the now pristine sheild in his hands. "This relic is all we can give you for beating that monster. It was stolen from our village long ago by the great moblin you defeated. Please take it as our thanks for purifying it and protecting our village." He said and link agreed. When he touched it it transformed from its original look to one better suited to links stature and taste just as it had for the great moblin.

"It is unbreakable and cannot melt in fire. If a like like eats it it won't be destroyed. Thank you hero and thank you princess. We must repay you." He finished and zelda spoke clearly.

"Fear not good man your debt is paid this sheild and your gratitude are all we need. I promise when I return to my castle I will send some knights to protect your village for the gift you gave link." She said she now knew they were going to go to the volcanic death mountain next almost as if the sheild not melting was a clue for her. And the fight was clouding her clairvoyance. With the fight gone the path was clear at least until they reach the slopes of the volcano.

Link sat up shortly after and children came up to him thanking him for saving their families and homes. He said nothing feeling embarrassed and zelda smiled thinking the whole thing was cute.

"Come link pur destiny awaits" She said and took his hand to pull him away from the village and on the road to hyrule feilds.

He said nothing following her to the next location but it seems she was hoping the journey was a good one or at least a safer one. She knew it wasn't the case while they were heading out to hyrule fields. She wonders if that area was just as bad or at least some clearing from what they faced so far.

The sun was rising as they enter the expanse of plains and hilly grasslands that comprised hyrule feilds. The wind blew peacefully across the land making the grasses weave like a green sea. She didn't take the road once the got to the feilds as her vision changed to not knowing what would happen before midday. As soon as she made thus correction she saw a safe trip to the slopes of the mountain.

It would take all day to get there and she knew he was still with her. My midday as they stop to rest she bathed in the river and knew his eyes were on her. She didn't mind because they were alone but his gaze made her body burn and ache even worse because of what happened in the woods.

He said nothing and did nothing unless she told him to.

They keep on moving but Zelda and Link keeps looking ahead wondering of what will still happen now.

By nightfall they came to the slopes of death mountain and as the sun perished the wolfos howled. Around them the soil stirred and undead stalchildren stalfos and the lost souls of all who died in the feilds awakened from the dark energy throughout the land. They move faster on the trail and he had to stop and kill a few every few minutes to keep them at bay. It wasn't u til they were in the territory of death mountain that the undead pursued them no more.

She wasn't scare whatever her reaction was. She was plaything the part to keep his heroic spirit burning to protect her and the land. Death mountain had other dangers. Falling rocks, tektites giant jumping one eye spiders, and lava floes and steam geysers. The trail was relatively safe from the geysers and flows because it was well traveled but the tektites hunted there for traveller's.

As they work their way up he cut several down and collected the spoils usually an eye or the ruppies sometimes dropped. The eyes were valuable in the use of potions and she knew it was hard to get any monster part since they burn up and return to be reborn later.
