It was good to see eachother and now she could fight with him. Sje didn't know what sort of training they would do but probably endurance and evocation training. Teo things she worked on to impress him on his return.

"Apartum" He said and ran his hand down like a zipper. A shimmering portal opened up on a pathway through swirling mist. She knew the spell but this portal opened to a different place than just the other side connected to this place. Somehow he opened a door or a path directly to the path he needed and that took either alot of power or knowledge of the ways or both. She gathered her tools and foci and followed him.

He was in his guard and it wasn't long to see why. The path was going through trees covered in icy webs. She noticed his staff was red hot ready to fire and he was watching side to side like he expected an attack. On the sides of the road were burned husks of giant spiders and ashes and piles of dust. The dust she knew were his because of the type of spell it was. She followed close getting more and more creeper out as the mist rolls across their feet


"Is this normal?" She asks and he nodded.

"This is the official path guarded by the queen of the winter the spiders are her servants. They're supposed to let us through but sometimes they can't fight their hinger and some attack..." he said and he cut his story short he aimed his staff at a shadow and it stayed where it was hissing.

"Ssssthe path issss safffe 2 invaderssss esssscaped out webs and were burned by your council." Said the shadow and she hurried by with him as he nodded and passed. She noticed that behind them the path was closed by the shadowy spiders.

She didn't like this place and was happy that the other portal was only a short way in front of them. The portal opened onto a desert with a few scattered Mesa somewhere in Arizona. Strpping out she was greeted vy a stern young woman who's eyes bore the weight of centuries. "So this is your recruit. The one who threw her exams?" He nodded bowing in respect

"Madame Luchio this is the one I spoke about she's very capable and has even learned much of my own magic. She has broken none of the laws of magic and will give her life for our cuase." He said and she nodded

"Welcome miss..." she left it hanging waiting for self identification captain Luchio was very clearly in command and testing for honesty.

"I..It's nice to meet you miss.." she looks to her with a light bow of her head.

She was shown to the barracks and latrine and mess area as she was given a tour of the camp. It was fairly small and the wardens waved at her. Most were recruits and fairly young but some were older and they were scarred from previous battles. She waved but didn't say too much listening to her guide. She wished her love would be the one showing her around but he was removing orders to patrol the perimeter.

After her tour she returned to the mess area to eat and she ate slowly her thoughts spinning in her mi d as to what they would be learning.

For now, it could be small things but during this time it's more. She wanted to be sure she was ready and will be when the time is right.

Cutting to the next morning she was exhausted. "Again!" The drill instructor said and she gathered the power within her and the heat around her and shouted her flame word. The energy and magic rushed out if her leaving her even more drained as her fifth spell nearly took everything.

She was training in wizards fire and she was already burned out. She looked at him training across the space they occupied. His flame was a startling star that burned they eye to see and it detonated on target like a small nuke. Her own fire was up to her and she knee his flame was hot enough to change atomic structure.

"Again" the instructor said and she gathered everything she could and fired her flame spell again. The practice had taught her how to conserve energy while maintaining output and she learned alot In a short time but that just meant that this was a break down drill to see how much stamina and force the trainees had.

The drill instructor sees her do it again but had their arms crossed behind their back. "Again!" She did it once more focusing more energy into her blade seeing the energy and flame spell firing out again. "Once more!" she once more did it again.

She felt exaust3d and completely spent a fee had already collapsed unable to move and the instructor halted the lesson. "This is war and battle can rage for hours even days. The object of this was to see your limitations. And technique. Get some rest and food. And after you recover we will see how your veils are." And the instructor walked away.

She sighed in relief and smiles at her love as he was in a drill of his own. She knew he was holding back for everyone safety and knew his fire spell could break atomic bonds if he was serious enough. She rested and got some food watching him as he was drilled with the other wardens. He wasn't a new recruit he had served them for a year at least.

She was waiting and being quiet while resting up but she did hope she was showing that she was able to do much during this.

It was like a regular boot camp and after her rest they were summoned to work a veil. She smiled and performed a perfect veil hiding her from sight sound and even scent. Given her success she was allowed to sit by and watch the others being instructed on where they needed improvement and had to keep trying until they got it right.

She took pleasure in her hard work being recognized and watched her love as his group was running around the whole training area to build stamina. Something she noted he had alot more of since they were last together. The thought of him with more stamina made her want him in a small way but she keeps her composure and focuses on the task at hand.

She flinched at the questions Luchio gave her.

Lucio had an Italian accent and while very young and beautiful was clearly wise and older that she looked. Those eyes held onto hers forcing her to look away or stare into her soul. "I-i am his girlfriend..." she said it softly "I hid my powers because I don't trust the council after what happened to my teacher. And I came here to help because I don't want to see him get hurt. "The truth then... good choice. I heard about your teacher from the one she betrayed..." that got our young woman tight in the back of her mind. The leader of the council police and military knew about her teacher and learned from her teachers first love. "I also know that she has been operating very similarly to help others who don't meet council standards. And that she is a good woman. She said nothing else but thinking about the reasons she joined did leave her with more questions and hoping to keep him safe. Anything to see him safe was good for her while the breeze still blew.

This explained why he was gone for so long he was going where this woman commanded him to be. She looked over at him again and wished to be in his arms not sitting next to their leader.

"I will do my best warden please teach me well." She said and that seemed to appease the leader who got up and winked at her.

"Go get him then and be discreet. I don't normally allow such behavior in my ranks but if you must keep it discreet." She said before walking off. Thay made her blush and blush hotly. He was focused in his training and she thought he didn't need any because he was so good at magic now. She noticed he wasn't using alot of his power and she decided to ask him how he saved so much and still delivered high power evocation. Though, it leaves her blushing red but calms down after a while. This worked but it made her happy.

She waited for the right opportunity to get him alone before she did anything. She went with him during the free time before bed and asked him if she could walk with him. He agreed seeing the look in her eye that told him she wanted to talk to him.

When they were alone she started by asking about how he can use so little power and he explained that he draws energy from around him to save energy from within himself. "If you take heat everything gets cold if you take cold everything gets hot around you. And there's a limot to how much you can absorb and hold in." He said and she nodded not realizing it was that simple. Then she got to what she really wanted.
