bic:Their was so many different smells floating through the air today and it left him wondering what was going on. Maybe in some way, he could just figure something out to the ones that got away and hope to get them. This mission he got only made him curious to what is happening later on during that time before Tomas sees the light become green to drive forward to follow the scent. His nose was burning a little from the sudden strong smell that he was unsure about what is happening. Was it from the south this time.

Gripping his steering wheel, he keeps driving trying to hurry up.

Ooc: same answer i get from everyone else. Its okay im used to it. Ill figure it out eventually.

Bic: he stoped at a park and the scent was everywhere here. He got out and started walking around. The sfent had layers like it had been here many times and soon he saw a drainage pipe. It smelled putrid and acrid as the scents mixed and suddenly he felt the scent behind him. He walked right into a trap.

ooc: Sorry I been tired still through the week and i have a headache now

bic: He saw a shadow to turn around and see someone but dodges from a swipe of a claw. Tomas jumps back seeing another vampire there but he was glaring at him seeing his eyes burning red from the sight of a flea bag. He always hated werewolves in this city that he's been known for going on arguments but however, that might be a different choice.

"What..the hell are you doing here, flea bag?" he growls.

"That's none of your business, blood drinker. What are you doing here?"

"I'm asking the questions here bastard......so answer me: why are you here?" he hisses about to punch him but stops smelling him to see the folder in Tomas pocket. He must have folded it just in case. He wonders what he had and figure it was something as a secret information.

Ooc: its okay mel, and that headache is your willpower being strained i learned that from my sister and my mother. Youre veey busy and i dont expect you to be able to relax like normal until you get your new room set up.

Bic: Tomas was not going to be violent there were witnesses and if he is anything everyone would notice.

"Look i was sent here by the chief i dont want trouble im alone because my partener got hurt. I was told you have something no one is supposed to know about not even me. You cant trust me thats fine but trust rhe cheif." He hoped reason would win out but the baleful glare was starting to get under his skin.

bic:"Oh really? You think just cuz you said that it's really meaning..." he grumbles with a growl behind his throat. This was really annoying him but for now he was not sure about it. Maybe in another way he can go through to this guy. Without shedding blood. They were able to smell the tense feeling from one another that it was causing them to tense up.

"As I said; I don't want to cause any trouble here.."

"Everyone always says that so what makes it easy for me to believe you? For all I know you might be trying to kill me or hunt me down for money or something...maybe I should claw your eyes out instead?" he snarled to make Tomas tense but growls back.

"As I said; I'm not here to fight and I'm speaking the truth. My partner was hurt and she's at home resting up. I know you don't like hearing that but it's the whole truth.."

"..abd besides if I was hunting you do you really think i would keep myself exposed. Im here for the cheif. You can call him at th3 number in my wallet i wont move its in my nack pocket."

He was reaonabky calm now. If this one waa goingto hurt tomas he would have without coming out. He visibly started to relax even with those eyes making tje hajr on tje back of his neck prickle

"..............."he saw him relaxing his body with the baring of teeth and claws disappears looking at him. He didn't say anything but it left him wondering what or why. He slowly snarls to look at him.

"This leaves me curious; why would someone like you get sent here by him?" he grumbles looking at him. Tomas had no idea why but he was only told due to a mission he had to deliver something to someone else for a little while but he wanted to head back due to Alice.

"As I said; I'm just trying to do a job I was given. Nothing more; nothing less.."

The wolf waited and relaxed theu had been standing like that so long some passersby were looking. "Fine ill come with you but if i dont like what the cheif has to say im going to have your badge." And he relqxed his clawes. The fangs srayed bared as a warning.

Tomas was confused by all this but knew it was going to be okay now. He didnt turn to look at rhe wolf he knew if he did it may ttigger an attack instinct. This one was a bit feral but still a decent guy.

He looks away from Tomas with an annoyed expression on his face before he goes ahead following him back to the car. He follows after the grumpy werewolf before seeing that he was in the car waiting on him. He had his arms crossed over his chest and was thinking about what is happening that Tomas got back in the driver's seat to shut the door and look at the file.

His eyes looked seeing the information and documents that he then sees something else. He didn't know if he should say but in the file was a picture and it was the same guy that's sitting in his car. His info was as followed:

Origination: Second in command officer/was put on vacation by chief

Objective of mission: Bring Carlos to the police station to speak to the chief. He is needed for a topic being spoken to. Have till this late evening to complete mission.

"Hmmm...so you are the one he wanted to speak to...what do ya know.."

"Know what? Talking smack about me already?" he heard the other werewolf named Carlos hiss but Tomas shook his head.

"No, no. I'm not doing that. It's just...the chief at the police station wishes to speak to you about something..he asked me to bring you in so you can talk with him.." he said holding his hands up in defense.

"The chief?.....You mean my uncle?"

"Uncle?..Wait Uncle!? He never said he had a....Nephew?"

"He forgets most times but that's not his fault. Been in the force for a while to a couple years now.....*Sighs* I swear that old man is forgetting more things every day..." he grumbles not seeing Tomas having a shocked reaction to this.

He bwgan to think abojt this guy becoming a temporary partener bht she wasnt hurt that bad. Then what? "This guy clearly outranks me" he thought "if he is going to be put incharge i dont know if he could deal with things like the chief does." And he was overthinking it. He didnt have tobworky because this was an ally not a rival. Albeit annoued thay vacation was interrupted but thats the natute of the job.

"Carlos im guessing you were asked to go on vacation. Do you love the job?" He asked because he was curious and wanted to know more about this mysterious nephew from the shadows.

"The job is alright. Stable and workable even from the vacation. Why would you ask about that though..." he grumbles about it with his arms crossed after a while that it leaves him wondering about it. Maybe in some way he can get a long talk to the chief wondering what is happening right now. Maybe their is something else he can learn later on. Maybe in some way.

"Hmmmm......I guess your chief really wants to see how you been doing or at least see if you are alright during your vacation.."

"I guess so....but I don't know.."

"..Ummm right I guess....." he keeps drinking down the road while the other Carlos just looks ahead not saying a thing. This was rather confusing but it left him thinking a little bit. Maybe he can start some conversation.

"Listen; what are you trying to ask me? Is something on your mind or-"

"Are you really the chief's nephew? He's never told us about him having other family.."

"Again; he has bad memory and forgets but he knows...I'm not angry about it since that happens.."

"I think he either wants you on this case.. or to be there if something haopens to him. Im just not sure. And im worried about my partener too. " he wasnt sure what was going to happen but the cheif was putting something big together that much was certain. Did he hear about some new criminal group? Ans why go so far as to call a vacationing cop and a relative to the station.

He knew this wasnt planned ot normal maybe the chief wanted to name a successor. The ideas keep spinning all the way until they reach the precinct.

"Seems we are here...the chief us inside I know.." he and Carlos get out of the car to shut the doors. He walks in the building with him as they head towards the chief's office. A few other officers were shocked seeing Carlos walking with Tomas that they look away not sure about things. He didn't question it but maybe it's because he tends to be a little scary? Both of them hurry till showing up at the chief's door.

He gives a few good knocks to hear a 'come in' voice from inside. They walk in seeing the chief drinking some water with medicine. He looks up seeing the two that he lowers the glass seeing Carlos. "?????"

"Hello Uncle, you still doing alright?" he said looking at him.

"Carlos my boy! I'm gald that you found him Tomas.. 'he said standing up while he gives a nod, seeing the other two looking at one another then talk.

"What are you doing anyway my nephew?" he asked.

"I've been alright but I'm hoping you alright even with the memories slipping for a bit then come back?" he asked seeing him nod, rubbing the back of his head.

"Yeah, figure that would be the case.."

"Well nkw that youbare here let me fill you in" the chief said before telling carlos everything that happened until now. Tomas was not happy that he was sent on a wild goose chase for a person who wasnt suppose dto be at work and he remained silent. The old codgers memory wasnt poor he pulled a fast one on them all to drag his nephew back onto the active duty roster.


His memory wa slippy but not so much that he would make a serious mistake like that. And tomas felt manipulated. It was hard to dind time to help his aprtner as it was without things liem this keeping them apart.

After a few hours, he heard everything to make Carlos cross his arms looking at his uncle. "So..let me get this straight. You had him come find me during my vacation and have me want to take over your work? Like being the new chief?" he said to make sure he heard this right.

"Yes. You see; I'm getting older as years go by and I know I've been having issues due to my memory.."

"Which we have seen.." Both Tomas and Carlos said at the same time seeing him look towards each one then lets out a sigh.

"That is why I figure maybe you can take over my position Carlos. You been the chief of your own police department so I really wonder if you would like to do that?" he said wondering about his choice that Carlos looks to his uncle then sighs.

"And you wonder why Aunt Karla wants you to be at home instead of working out here like a driving mad dog. Even if I took this position, you always try something to come on back. How are you sure you'll listen this time?"

"Because she will be sure I stay home. I need to retire due to my old age and by law, I have to pass it to my bloodline which is you Carlos. That means the choice of what you do is up to you....so what do you say? Will you take this from me? Who knows? You'll be having two of the best officers working with you. That being Tomas and Alice-"

"Who the hell is Alice?"

"My partner and please don't say her name like it's a curse or something." Tomas said quickly with arms crossed that Carlos looks at him with a turn of his head. Who the hell was this woman? Someone he cared about? Eh, not his problem since women tend to be sneaky bitches from what he's seen.

"..*Sighs* Fine Uncle I'll take..but you better stay home and auntie means it.." he said in a warning as the chief nods.

Tomas decided t9 keep an eye and an ear on this carlos for the tone he took regarding alice. He wasnt going to do anything to carlos but wwnted to make sure she was treated with respect. If anyon3 was going to need watching it would be carlos until he gets us3d to the job and l3arned some respect where women were concerned.

"Thanks my boy. Now, I'll be sure to explain everything to you about this location. You will have both Tomas and Alice helping you with bigger missions to be sure that will be sent to you over time when they come. You'll like working with them I know." he said patting his nephew on the back that Carlos sighed listening to him. Tomas didn't say anything but the chief looks to him.

"Thank you Tomas for bringing him here. Just be sure you treat him like you do with me or better. I want you guys to work well together." he said.

"Of course sir.."

"Good good. Now, you can go Tomas. Thank you and you can rest up till the next job is up or given. Have a good one." he waves by while Tomas gives a nod and leaves to the outside. Carlos was unlike any other guy he's met and...seeing how he speaks of women got him worried. True, Alice won't like that but he will do his best to be sure not to explain this too hard for her. Or to what he said when speaking of her. The drive was only a couple minutes before arriving to the house. He saw that the lights were flashing from the window that shows Alice still was downstairs watching Tv. Right where he left her to make him sigh happy. She listened to him and rested when she had to while walking towards the door and getting his keys out.

He opened th3 door and set himself in th3 mindset of im home. That meant he put his work stuff away and went to the kitchen before anything. The first thing he did was get a tall glass full of water then drink it down. Then he got a snack and wwnt into th3 living room to see hiw she was doing.

He saw her already drinking some hot tea while watching a game show on television. It was one of her favorite kinds that come on at 4 in the afternoon. He's never watched the show as much as she has but that's something else for him to figure out later. He takes a sit and watches it too that she looks seeing him. "Well, hello to you too sir. How was the mission? Did it go alright?" she said smiling.

"It went....okay. It was something I wasn't expecting but I was able to do it."

"That's good to hear. I'm glad it went through alright but you look like you are annoyed about something Tomas. Did something happen during your work?" she looks to him with a tilt of her head that she sees him just thinking about it but remaining silent. He didn't know much but he started telling her about Carlos and of the mission. She listens to him during that time without speaking before hearing what happened making her confused.

"Hold on, hold on, hold on. The chief is retiring? So he's got his nephew coming in to take his spot and he'll be the new chief?" she sounded shocked but wanted to be sure she got this right. How in the world did the chief figure this out?!

"I don't know but that's what he told me. I wasn't expecting that but that's what is happening right now. I figure he will be the one that's taken over the police building and giving us the works. I'm sure we can work with him.."

"Hmmmmm, I see...that's something new......" she said looking at the floor thinking about it. However, she's unsure how this new guy will be because the chief was someone they known during their starting years and was the one that introduced them to each other. He always liked a tough team and he had one. She was just unsure if this new chief will accept that.

"Alice?"

"I guess we will see how he is when I meet him. I just hope he's not a dick.." she grumbles with arms crossed but Tomas said nothing remaining silent to keep watching the tv with her. He was worried she might hate him but that will pass in time. He hopes.

He wasnt so sure whether or not carlos was the kind of man she would hate. It was hard to tell since he never met him before today. He hoped she was recovering well and decided to sit and watch the tv with her. With game ahows he tried to olay along if he knew the rules.

For a couple tries, he was doing pretty well and a few he missed on. This caused Alice to giggle at little seeing him giving it a shot to make her pat his back. They kept watching the show together for a hour before the news came on. Seems things were still doing alright but they got to see some news regarding the chief that was going on retirement. He was standing in the front of the police station seeing Carlos beside him. They were asking questions after questions to see him reply to them with a serious look on their faces.

"Wait; is that the dude you were talking about Tomas?" she saw the new face beside the chief as he was speaking with the press.

"Yeah that's him. I guess he's unsure about how to deal with this but it's all true. Knowing that much it seems he will be our new chief..." he mutters with arms crossed seeing him holding a hand out to show he's done answering questions.

"Don't worry; I'll be sure to do my best for this city and stop any evil bastards from causing harm. So you werewolves and vampires behave or else..that's enough questions..." he said but turns to help his uncle to the car as the camera flash from the pictures being taken.

"Yeahhhhh..he sounds like a bastard..."

"Alice......"

"Just saying....He better not give us trouble or become stupid from his own position...."

He sighed "he will alice. He will. He will get in icer his jead we will have to bail him oit tjen he will take all the credit. And after when his enemies cone to harass him we will be called again... chief really picked a bad apple."

She knew life was going to be hard because of yje vampires and werewolves. Bjt now theu would be working almost non stop and probably seperated from yine to time.

"Alice... if he send you anywhere without me based on your record. Hire backup. He wony let me help you because i will be working on somwthing else." He warns her as he started talking about his goals as police comishoner.

"At least he isnt in yhe force anymore maybe the job will teach him."

"Maybe it will. Youre so much more forgiving than me." She blushed when he told her that and he settled into yhe couch for ine last night of peace with his partener.

"You're just saying that aren't you?" she mutters to poke his side that Tomas looks to hearing her say that. Knowing how she can be tends to make him wonder about it a lot more. Maybe he was really alright with this but she looks forward to sigh.

"I'm not but I mean it. I don't want him doing something to compromise you and me. I get he will be the new chief but I just hope he knows what he's doing. That or new changes.." he grumbles to let out a yawn that she looks to him.

"Guess you'll find out tomorrow and I will to if he calls us which I get a guess he will.... I mean, it shouldn't be too bad for us but we'll wait during that time...For now, how about we just get dinner ready and get to bed? I'm sure tomorrow will be crazy.."

"He was sure thibgs would be rougher i town now but there was a plan he hoped the new chief folkowed it ubtik he got settled.

Turned out thibgs were good. Criminals were confused by what happened organized crime was trting to take advantage of the gap but the plan cuaght most of them tting their money and lawyers in court for weeks. The justice system got a decent boost that was used to increase education spending at the academy. Better equipment, newer recruits who actually had experience on the beat. And best of all our two were still working together.

During the last two weeks, Alice and Tomas was shocked seeing how much work Carlos did and they were getting along with him. At first, she wanted to break his neck for the smart mouthing he did but she ignores it after a while. He really was a loud mouth. At least he avoided angering her after a while that he was getting used to her. Tomas was happy for that and he was already working better with Tomas as well as they were drinking some hot tea together on their break. She was way better after her rest and Tomas was happy that Carlos can see they were a really good team.

"I'm actually shocked to admit this but Carlos isn't a bad guy. Sure, he is a pain in the ass sometimes but at least he's fair." she said drinking more hot tea that Tomas nods to agree with her.

"Yeah. I guess that shows he's not too bad for himself. Worrying over nothing is something we are used to huh?" he chuckles but she shook her head looking away from him while driving back to the police station. They saw the new officers working and coming in from finished work or some leaving for the day. They get out of the car to walk into the building that they walk through to speak with Carlos with any updates going on.

They knock on the door hearing a 'come in' as Alice open the door and walk in seeing Carlos speaking with a new female officer that was hired but she gave her thanks and turns to leave. He waves off then sees Alice and Tomas.

"Huh, welcome back you two."

"Yeah, were back. Brought some coffee for ya in case." he said showing a hot cup of joe.

"Thanks. Nothing to report if you were wishing to ask. Things have been quiet after a while so things are doing alright for now......seems you two are able to head off for the day. If you want." he said.

"That depends but I guess so. Things are not too bad so why not? Unless we got another side mission again." she asked that Carlos blinks looking at her that he was curious himself.

"That depends little lady...." he said leaning on his hand.

She blinks looking confused to look away from him with arms over her chest. Great, how he was trying to flirt with her. How cute. "Really? You know you can't win this honey. Besides, I am realy unsure if that's part of my job of having another trying to flirt.."

"Oh come now, I'm not flirting with you......" he said looking away but Tomas rose an eye brow confused. Why would he say it that way? Was something wrong? He didn't say anything feeling a sudden uneasy feeling that he saw her talking to Carlos that she hears her cell phone ringing.

"Hold on.." she picks up her cell and answers it showing it's her mother checking up on her. She was talking with her on the phone while Carlos looks at her silent now, feeling a weird itch in his nose. Something was rather off with him during the last few weeks. Even after he became the chief of the police but that means they gotten closer to become allies. Wait. He shouldn't be worried but maybe it's because he felt jealous? No way...could he?
