War between species

Most noticed her normal day outfit showing off her curves and body that most guys blush to quickly look away. Alice didn't notice it at first since she was busy shopping for the house. She's got half of the stuff but that leaves her seeing a little girl walking over but trying to help her mom with shopping. She drops the bread she was carrying but thought it was cute.

Alice walks over to pick up the bread for her and hands it back to the little girl. She looks up seeing the little girl was a werewolf wagging her tail behind her. "Thank you m-miss." she said.

"you're welcome little one." she smiled then went back to shopping as the little girl finds her mother, saying that she got help from Alice on the bread. The woman smiled but picks up her little girl and sets her in the seat while pushing the cart.

Alice went back to getting eggs, milk, some snacks, food for later use or dinner. Even some small personal things for the bathroom both him and her. So far, she's gotten everything but she looks to the seafood and gets a few packs of shrimp and lobster. She puts them in the car and goes on about finish up the shopping. She was humming waiting in line after getting something else but now wait in line after a moment. She was humming thinking a little but she was happily waiting now. A few that was staring at her didn't say much but one perv eyes her butt seeing how it looked.

Being sure not to be noticed, he reaches to pump into her that she presses up against her. Alice twitches feeling that but quickly moves forward away from the man that showed an innocent look on his face. "Oh I'm so sorry miss. I didn't mean to bump into you."

"Really? Seems like you did that on purpose. Second, their is no one behind you." she said turning to face him since she indeed saw no one there. He looks at her but remains silent.

"Oh come on, I wouldn't lie to you. I'm not like that?"

"..Dude, just please leave me alone. I don't need you pressing up against me like I'm some thing or whatever. I'm going to pay for my things and leave so I hope you enjoy your day."

"Oh come on, your not into guys like that? I figure you like them rough with ya. If you get what I mean." he said.

"*ignores him and goes to pay for her items*"

"The silent treatment? That's hot." he said but he wouldn't leave her alone that he was following her to the car. The others were worried about the woman but Alice gets to her car putting everything inside that he was watching her and keeps following her till he taps her shoulder.

She turns around seeing him but crosses her arms.

"Come on babe; don't ignore me like that. I'm just trying to get your number-"

"Look; I'm not looking for any sick perv to hit on me because I'm already taken thank you. Second, if you don't back up I'm going to beat your ass for not leaving me alone. Now, if you would kindly leave. me. alone."

"....Geez, I thought women had a brain but not the guts to fight. Listen you little slut, I'm going to either show you a good time or you'll end up pissing me off." he yanks her arm about to slap her but Alice quickly jabs him in the face with the force of her hand and palm, breaking his nose. She quickly kicks him back right in the chest to see him fall flat on his back. He groans coughing from the broken nose that she walks over showing some hand cuffs and her police badge.

"Wait; your a-"

"Yeah; officer. Could have had a good day but you ruined it. Hope you think before trying this again." she sees two officers rush over as she shows the badge, going ahead to help her with arresting him. Two police officers drive up to arrest him.

She stood up going ahead with getting her bags in the car, gets in and drives on home. The guy was arrested for trying to sexually assault her while doing that. However, that will just be a annoyed possible though. She drives on home not saying anything but listening to music.

Alice arrives home seconds later while going ahead with starting to go and park in front of the house. She turns off the car and gets the bags in the back. She sees that everything was okay but held up the bags after closing the door. She heads on inside but goes to shut the door behind her. She started to head to the kitchen and sets everything down while thinking. After this, she was going to take a shower to get that guys scent off of her.

When she was finished she started making a meal and trying not to think about what happened. People were getting darker after the heatwave and now things were getting more active for police too.

Carlos called her and collected her report fist hand and she told him what happened.

"Be careful there are more reports of people missing and assaults of every kind going on all over the city. And I don't think its going to get better." He said before hanging up

She knew this and she knew it was because her man wasn't out doing his job. He was working to control himself so he wouldn't go too far and end up breaking the law.

Alice just remains quiet after a while but she turns on the tv while the food was cooking for them. She could see the news on with the reports going about. It was even on the head news that was seen.

"Hello everyone, this is Abs 4 news tuning to you live as more reports of sudden rise of violence and kidnapping has gotten worse. Police has been getting reports of others either targeting female and males while luring them into traps. So far, about 50% of cases go to woman getting hit on from males that seem nice but end up kidnapping them moments later. We spoke with the chief and he's stating for everyone to stay safe now."

Alice blinks heard this but she went to stir the food in the pot while it cooked. She didn't say much but that made her remain quiet moments later. The others were showing that more were getting worse and worse. She knew they should be out trying to stop this but she was still not speaking with Tomas right now.

"For now, the reports will be still worked on till we hear some good news in case. Stay tuned."

"So that guy that was hitting on me was trying to kidnap me. Good thing I noticed before he could. It's like the city's gone mad." she sighed looking down before she hears him walking down the stairs but she hopes he didn't smell the other man's scent on her.

"..Oh, your back?"

"I came back a few minutes ago." she didn't look at him still mixing the food as she cooked. Tomas only looked silent but gets a soda to see some that she didn't look at him chopping cheese.

"Tomas?"

"Hmm?

"Did you see the news? Something about the new issues going around town?" She didn't face him but he remains quiet thinking about it. That could explain why he got a call from Carlos a while ago then stood up looking at the window.

"I might have heard something but I don't know. I figure you saw the news?"

"Yes. I just came back and saw the news." she said but he slowly turns to see her back but Tomas looks at her while still breathing. She didn't know he was looking at her. However, his nose picked up something in the air. What was that?

"I..see." he mutters not speaking after some time that he was sniffing the air, wondering where the smell came from before looking to Alice that made him become quiet.

"Alice, did something happen when you were at the market?"

"Nothing much happened. Just a jerk trying to hit up on me." she said that Tomas got the feeling something else went down at the market. He walks over standing behind her but she keeps chopping the cheese to add into the pot.

"Alice.."

"Nothing happened. I took care of it either way so you shouldn't worry about it." she said not looking at him but he didn't say much that he lowers the soda then looks at her head still smelling the scent that was another man. Not getting angry, he slowly remains quiet.

"I know we are giving each other space but tell me what happened."

"*Sighs* I was in the middle of shopping but had some others looking at me like eye candy. I ignored it and went on with shopping but as soon as I got to the checkout, a guy pressed up against me from behind trying to hit on me. I kindly told him to leave me alone before paying and heading out. He followed me and tried again before he became aggressive, grabbing my arm. He was about to slap me but I attacked in self defense, arresting him. The other officers showed up and took him away before I went on home."

"Are you unharmed?"

"Yes; he grabbed my arm but not too hard to bruise me. Though, I'm guessing he's one of the kinds that is becoming aggressive right now like others. I hope things will calm down soon before it becomes worse." she said not looking at him but Tomas moves back still thinking about it.

"..........So, another man had the nerve to press up against you like your a piece of meat?"

"..If you say so then yea. However, as I said; I took care of it-"

"Why didn't you call me then Alice? I could have went with you to shop so no other jerk would do that to you."

"If I didn't forget, were giving each other space right? I can take care of myself Tomas. You shouldn't worry about me that much. You are still trying to clear your head right now because even if you came with me, you could have snapped." she finishes the pot and sets it off to the cold top to let it cool as she turns the stove top off then she stirs.

"Even if we are, that don't excuse you from not having someone with you as back up. I don't want anyone hurting you even if you can take care of yourself. You know how much I worry about you."

"I know that. I told you we are trying to make sure your more calm with yourself. Is going with me going to help you either way or are you going to start getting mad at me for something I was doing to protect myself?" she said now sounding annoyed that Tomas kept calm before gripping her shoulder. She yanks away from his grip before he grabs her and turns her around facing him.

"Of course I worry because I don't want anything happening to you. Or something that might risk you being taken away from me! I don't want you to leave me is that hard to understand?"

"You think I don't know that! I do my best to stay safe out there in the town. I'm not stupid Tomas. You make it sound like I'll let any guy hit on me and just use me. Is that what you worry that I'm weak?" she said that he looks at her gripping her shoulders that she moves his hands off her shoulders that he and her glare at one another.

"*Sighs* Why are you so hardheaded?"

"Me? I'm not hardheaded!" she said jabbing his chest but he grabs her wrist to stop her. His eyes looking down at her while she glares at him.

"You behave like a hardheaded person. You could have gotten hurt. You could have been kidnapped then what!? I won't know where you are unless I get help after a while! You do stupid things just to worry me, Alice and I already feel bad about what I said to you! I just want you to be here safe without you doing some stupid shit that ends up with you dead! Do you want to DIE!?" he shouts slamming her hand down on the counter that she winces seeing him looking at her dead in the eyes. They didn't say anything but his hand still was holding her wrist while she didn't say anything.

".....*moves her hand away* *Sighs* You need to clear your head Tomas, I need to finish cooking....." she said not looking at him but Tomas remains silent as he was looking at her angry but he slowly grabs his drink to crush it spilling the soda on his hand and shirt. He turns away to head back upstairs.

no his head was clear. The problem wasn't his head it was his lack of self control. Suddenly he lcouldnt sit still. Turning he left.

She thought he was going on a walk like he had before but then she caught his scent. It was vanishing. She knew that could only mean he was hunting. That worried her until Carlos called.

"WHERE IS HE????"

"wha..."

"WHERE IS HE TELL ME HE IS THERE!"

"he..."

"SOMEONE HAS BEEN GOIMG AROUND THE CITY FILLING UP THE LOCKUPS AND THERE ARE NO REPORTS!! WHERE?!?!? IS?!?!? HEEE?!?!?"

"hunting..."

"GET HIM BACK NOW OR THE CITY WILL GO BANKRUPT FROM ALL THE LAWSUITS" and the receiver slammed down.

The blood drained from her face and chest going to her feet. No way... he wouldn't go and arrest every criminal no matter how small without proof... he wouldnt... unless...

She looked at the TV and gulped he had only resisted his urge to arrest everyone because of their law breaking no matter how small but he always resisted because of the restrictions on law officers. But if he went rogue and wasn't filling out reports then he was a true danger to the city. Law and order would fall to ruin.

'Shit!" taking the food off the burner and sets them aside, she grabs the spare keys to look for her car and gets in. She turns on the engine and begins driving off to find him. He was insane doing this! She knew he wasn't going to even if hey were in some disagreement, this was not part of it. Now, she had to quickly find him before he did something stupid.

Alice was driving about looking out the window wondering where Tomas was. She had to find him before things got worse. She didn't want him to get in trouble before she heard some screaming near by. She stops the car seeing two guys pinned to the wall by their shirts by another.

"Hey, let us go man!" one said.

"Yeah, fuck off!" the other shouts as they looked to a very scary Tomas. She quickly gets out the car to head over to him.

"Tomas, what the hell are you doing!? Drop them!"

"*Growling tightening his hold*" he keeps them shoved against the brick wall not hearing Alice right now. If he was going to do anything, he was going to do his job. She saw he didn't hear her. He just ignored her.

"Tomas, I know you hear me. Let them go! Your getting yourself in trouble if they find out your doing this. I'm telling you to let them go right now!" she mutters mad reaching for his arm to try making them leg go. However, he shoves her away as she falls to the ground. She winces from a scrap but stood back up looking at him. Tomas was not looking or listening to her but he just kept holding them up.

Shaking her head, she knew she had to stop him. Reaching into her back pocket, she pulls out a taser aiming it at him. He hears the click to make him look over to her. "Tomas; let them go. Right. Now. Don't make me knock you out and get you back in here." he didn't respond, glaring at her thinking he would snarl at her but she suddenly sighed to see him drop them facing her.

Right away, he charges at her but she quickly grabs his arm to flip him on his chest. Tomas grunts but feels her hold his arms behind his back, putting cuffs on him. He struggles but she forces him up and go to the car. He struggles but she forces him inside the back seat.

She shuts the door and gets in to drive on home. He didn't say anything while she drove him but Alice knew he was not saying again while she didn't. They got on home minutes later before she gets out the car turning the engine off. She opens the door and gets him out heading inside the house to slam it shut after getting him in. All she did was walk him over to the chair and force him to sit down.

"*About to talk*"

"Have you lost your damn mind!? You know you could have gotten in trouble for doing that you idiot!" she goes over to undo the cuffs while he looks down at the chair. "If your going to do something stupid then don't! You know Carlos would have killed you if he found out and you think it's good for you to do that!!!!"

"..........."

"You really are an idiot. I told you to clear your head not do something stupid that will get you in trouble! Don't you even give a shit anymore!?" she saw him not looking at her but she glares to look at him. "Did you even hear me?! Is getting in trouble all your good for!? Does anything I told you mean anything to you at all!" she screams out at him but he stood up looking down at her with his dulled angry eyes.

"What? You got something to say? Then say it! I fucking dare you to say something to me or explain yourself-"

A loud slap was heard that had Tomas holding his hand up while seeing her eyes widen in shock. Her cheek was red as she reaches to touch it. He didn't say anything but he slowly turns to leave while she was looking down looking silent from the hit. He only heads upstairs to the room and slams the door harshly while she breaths in slowly but shook looking upset. She even grips a vase and threw it as it shattered against the wall looking down at the pieces and water.

"*Sighs and went back to cooking*"

Hours later, the news was speaking of the unknown prisoners being held but he was eating food that was left on a table in front of his bedroom door. He was working out in his bedroom but he was not muttering or saying anything. She was reading in her own room listening to music but she had ice on her cheek after the swelling went down. She was fine but ignoring calls and text messages from Carlos.

he didn't know why he did it and it hurt him too. He didn't know what to do and he was going crazy. Pent up trapped and unable to express any emotion without hurting her feelings and now he hit her. He couldn't bear any forgiveness and his gnawing guilt was toxic.

He wished he never left but that was too late he wished he hadn't slaped her and that was too late he couldn't stand a the injustice and now he was afraid he was going to hurt her again.

Alice hears her phone again to see it's Carlos again but she grumbles to pick up her cell phone and answer it. "What do you want now, Carlos?" she was clearly not in the mood to talk but he just talked either way.

"Hey, I'm happy to hear that you finally got Tomas back in the house. Has he called down?" he asked hearing an annoyed sigh.

"Yes; he's back in the house. In his room as I am. Anything else you wish to know?" she said looking at her lap hearing nothing from Carlos before he sighed.

"I see. Well, good work Alice. I see that most of the prisoners are going to stay inside but the lawsuits won't happen. I don't get what came over him though. I just want you to keep him in that house and don't do anything stupid."

"Yes; fine. Anything else?"

"No? I just wanted to check up on you. Are you alright Alice?"

"Yes; I'm fine. Now please stop calling me Carlos. I'll be sure he stays in the house now stop calling."

"Alice-" she hangs up the phone and threw it down on her bed to lay back. Her arms covered her eyes trying to calm down but she was just annoyed right now. All this stupid things going on was hurting her head. She knew he was still mad or calm down that she sighed to just close her eyes minutes later. After a while, she was dressed in sleep wear but checking around the house locking the doors and turning the lights off. She held her phone before walking down the hallway.

She heard the tv on but she shook her head, opening the door while holding some water and medicine for his head. She walks in to his night table setting the water down harshly then grabs his wrist to put the medicine in his hand.

"?????"

"*Looks at him*"

"Wha-"

"For your headache. Just take them and rest."

"But..I don't have a-"

"Don't argue with me. Just take the damn pills and rest. You can do that can't you?"she looks at him showing her eyes were dull but he was nervous seeing this expression. All he did was slowly nod understanding that she didn't look at him turning to leave his room. He saw her walking off then winces from the door closing rather harshly as she goes to her room.

He looks down at the medicine then picks up the water to drink a little then take the pills. He swallows but drinks some water. He then lays down to turn the tv off while laying in the dark of his room.

She took her own pills for her headache and settled down. If he was mad at her it was because he didn't know what to do and he never felt good enough. At the moment they were giving eachitjer space but more than anything they both just wanted things to go back to normal.


Both of them cried. Both of them hurt and both of them had hurting heads from everything going on. He was growing more distant with her trying to respect her open wishes but deep down he knew she wished for things to be normal. He just didn't know what actions to take to prove it nor did he know if he was even allowed to love her now after what he did.

He hated himself for what he did to her and thought of himself as a monster. He didn't know what she was thinking half the time and he always had to guess a d alot of his guesses were wrong it seemed. Of he were to be himself he would corner her and kiss her until she couldn't fight back then he would steal her away to his room and give her everything he wished to give her. But as things were. He felt that such actions would make him look like he was just taking what he wanted and not caring for her wishes.


He knew she wished for him to be okay and happy. He knew she wished for him to be safe. He knew she wished to spend time together with him. He stopped trying to tease her to spice things up but it was hard to suggest anything because ehe didn't want to upset her.

For now, he will just have to bear with it, hoping that he can help her in the future if she allows him. Tomas just covers his face feeling his tears running down his cheeks trying to sleep tonight. It was too much for him and he only wishes to turn back time to fix it. He knew she was already sleeping but hopes that the days ahead would be better.

In the next few days, they were still distance but not speaking with one another. She was just done cooking breakfast while ignoring her cell phone from Carlos. She even blocked him for a few hours  to make him stop calling him before she unblocked him. They were told about coming to the office for a while to speak about the side missions going on. She and him just head there sitting in the office that showed Carlos looking at them. He wasn't sure what was going on but decided not to ask. He hands them their mission and goes on with their day.

For the next few days, they were doing the missions to work as partners. Taking down others and solving problems happening around. It was like a normal day but they were just focusing on work. She was just done arresting a punk that was causing problem that she had back up there to take him to jail. Tomas waited for her to come back that she gets in the car and he did too, driving back home to finish the day's work. They said nothing to one another again before showing up at home with her turning the engine off and heading inside.

She heads to her room while he did the same to wash up after today and come out dry and dressed. She went to make some lunch but he was back in his room checking some other things waiting to think of food later. Nothing else happened but their minds were empty and blank for now. They were just listening to the news in different ways with her working with just going ahead with the news.

The violence has calmed down but the city was on high alert. Tomas was seeing the news too but he didn't say anything after a while. He just keeps checking the news while seeing her eating some food too.

"So far, the city is doing better now with no issues or violence but the police is still warning many to be careful out there. We don't know what was the cause but you should still be alright. However, we will keep you up to date during this time till then. Now for the weather.."

"*Eating reading phone*.........................."

"*Watching news*"

The weather seems to be just fine with no problem but they gave a warning of a sudden breeze for spring. Others should enjoy today and relax for now. Alice and Tomas kept looking at their own way to the news before going about their days later that afternoon. She was back in her room like he was working on what they want. Her typing up something on her laptop while Tomas was working out again.

She couldn't help but look at him as he worked out and she wished that he would use his strength to drive her into the bed but she had to keep up her punishment of him.

He was slowly getting back to normal now that he was working again and crime was slowly falling as a result. The office was trying to circumvent Carlos authority to punish him and Carlos was fighting for the both of them.

The higher up wanted to seperate them and force them to work with other partners. Something she couldn't stand and she knew he would just resist and find her anyway.

They were supposed to be together and she and he both knew it. His workouts used more and more weights as he tried to exert himself but she knew that the only thing that would help was a fight or her own strength as he went all out with her. She knew sje was special to him and he only wanted a safe place to live with her.

However, they were not sure on how this will go if others saw them not talking with one another or working with one another. They just keeps their distance and didn't bother the other for the time being. However, they were just avoiding one another now.

Later that week......

"I think you guys should go with different partners for a while." Carlos was speaking with both Alice and Tomas in his office seeing their confused expressions on their faces. He looks at them but sighed, running his fingers through his hair.

"So your splitting us up?"

"Not permanently. Just for a while like a break. You both don't do much together even though you do but you barley speak with one another. I don't know whatever it is but maybe you guys need a break from one another. Thinking of the others on the force is something important too ya know. I just wanna be sure you are just fine. It's not too bad." he said worried seeing Alice look down but she was only thinking about it for a second.

"And who said we would be splitting up? We didn't sign or agree to anything."

"I know that but just think of it as a break. I'm already working on helping Tomas here with something of making sure he don't get in trouble but I'm worried he might be. I know whatever happened between you two must have been something but understand I don't want anything to go wrong here. Just think of this as a light vacation." he said.

"But that's stupid. The old chief never splits partners up unless they agree to it. Even if you suggest it, that won't work."

"........................"

"Look; I know that but you two are just..I don't know. I'm trying to make this easy for you guys. Don't you want to work this out at least? Or try something. I know you are either still furious or mad with one another....It's nothing too serious. Just....I want you both to be alright." he said reaching for Alice's shoulder but she stood up before he could touch her, turning to leave the room.

"Alice, wait a second!"

"You think doing this is working but whatever, you need to think of your workers first, Carlos." She leaves slamming the door behind her. He and Tomas watch her leave but he sighed shaking his head.

"What is going on with you two? Your not laughing usually and you are working more than normal from the last reports you got. Did you have some fight or something?" Carlos asked.

"No. Just some disagreement."

"Oh. Well, I'm still working with trying to stop the higher ups from splitting you two away from one another you know. I understand your mad with one another but.."

"Then try speaking with the older chief. He made the rule of no teams splitting up. Unless the teams agreed to it. They can't do anything anyway so it's fine. I'm heading out, we already finished patrol so.."

"*Sighs* go ahead..." he mutters to him as Tomas leaves after a while of talking. He just looked ahead leaving the office as Alice was already in the car waiting but she had the engine on. He gets to the car getting inside before she drives off back home. Tomas and Alice still remain silent in the car not talking to one another.

Thomas broke the silence first. "I don't want to be seperat3d.... I wouldn't know what to do without you." He was worried and thinking about what he was going to say when he confronted the one trying to seperate them. He was 5hinking it was a ploy to manipulate the two but she seemed 5o keep her words to herself.

"We don't know that or know if it's the case. I guess it's something they think will help us due to...our arguing. Again, I could be wrong." she didn't look at him but still went on with driving home.

"But still, I don't. I just..." he remains silent not saying anything else but she was also quiet. Nothing really came to mind but Alice only shook her head still driving on home. Minutes later, she shows up at home but parks the car and turns it off. She already was working with doing what is needed that she gets out of the car to head inside.

Tomas looked but he already was going ahead with heading inside himself. They were not sure on what to do right now and it leaves him more worried again. If they were trying to break them up...that wouldn't do. For now, they had to wait and see where it will lead.

They were already trying to get ready for later before they were now ready for bed later on that evening. She didn't say anything else but they went to bed without it. They will wonder and be curious about it. They will find out later on that next day when heading in again. He heads off to bed just like she did without saying a word.

The next morning; they were heading to speak with Carlos that was waiting for them. However, they see Carlos but noticed some others there. They look up noticing it before seeing him.

"Good morning you two."

"Who are they?"

"New officers?"

"No. Temporary partners. I know you guys don't or won't separated due to the old rule. I figure you guys need to clear your heads. You might thank me for this." he said seeing Tomas and Alice look at the two then look at Carlos.

"So in short; you broke the code in order to see how this little test goes? Geez, what a stupid idea." she hissed at him.

"Oh come on, just try it. I'm worried about you guys so I just want to see if you can help them. It's only for a week." Carlos explains. "After this, you guys are partners again but I won't mess with the rule again. Just test it out. That's all I ask." he said.

"I don't like this."

"..................."

"Well, I already put in word so you're trying it. Alice, your going to help Reggie here. He's new but is willing to help you for a week. Just to show him the ropes." He said seeing Reggie smile at her as Alice looks silent.

"And for you Tomas, Amanda. She is new but she really wants to be good. You'll train her." he said seeing her smiling at him as Tomas didn't respond.

"Carlos-"  

"No butts. It's just to see how you guys work with others. Please, it's only for a week. That way, these two will be partners later down the road." he said seeing Reggie walk over to take Alice's hand to kiss it.

"I can't wait to work with you, miss Alice. I'm so excited." he said as she looks at him before removing her hand but lowers it.

"I would be careful if I were you. Even if your just helping you for a week, that shouldn't leave me feeling annoyed. Do that and you'll end up losing your hand." she warns with a hiss that made Reggie tense up nervous.

Tomas hated this but he saw how happy Amanda was as she was looking at him. He looked so strong and powerful. She was already looking happier.

"Now, with that done you guys go on ahead and give it a shot. Here is your work for the week. Good luck." he waves them off as Alice sighed to turn and leave seeing Reggie following. Amanda was following Tomas as he was leaving as well. They went their different ways going ahead with the work for the week.

Thomas was definitely on edge and waiting for something, anything that would point at a clue or identify who was trying to seperate them. Their arguments were because she thought he was turned off by her and she wouldn't accept his words. Now he was working to keep his temper contained but she seemed to be having her own as well.

Maybe she was as pent up as he was.

Carlos warned them to watch themselves around the new officers and Alice began to suspect the new officers were sent to investigate the department. She did however take Thomas's hand in hers showing everyone there that even of she was mad at him Thomas was the only one she wished to touch her in a familiar way. Thomas was shocked and didn't let it show.

"Ummm..."

"Dont... this is because I don't want to explain to them."

The short between passed between thiar eyes and into their thoughts at a glance. Her hand held his tightly because she as still mad at him and he grit his teeth. Why was she shaking so much wa she that mad?

One by one the department started to return to normal and Alice and Thomas wrote up the reports. Internal affairs and the budget board summoned Thomas to speak with them and she was told to stay put until her turn

"How many times do we have to go through this. Humans aren't perfect and since we come from humans we aren't perfect. You know this... so why? Why are you going rogue and arresting citizens based on what you can hear? You have no documented proof the law has no case you know this so explain yourself."

"Sigh... I told you all why I didn't want to work in the city. I told you the rules don't work in the city and there would be no point in putting me here. Every time there is a heat wave I'm forced to ignore everything I believe to stay home and not get involved with crime."

"This isn't a perfect world the rules are there to protect us."

"Ay what cost? Freedom? Sanity? Innocence? Did you count how many were assaulted and forced to either keep it secret or be further abused?"

"Thats not our job and you are out of line."

"Thats right its not your job its mine I'm out there in the heat of it while you stay safe behind your precious rulebook and your safe cushioned desks while I have to go out there put my life on the line to fill your bank accounts and fuel your agenda that I don't even agree with. And if I were to go out of line there would be nothing left of you which is why I was hired in the first place. I can counter the most powerful and oldest that are out there"

"If that is your final word you will be receiving a report from our office in a week giving you your new orders. If you won't play by the rules you are out. And forbidden to associate with anyone in this precinct should your case be found in contempt."

"Fine but when I'm gone the shadows will creep into the light. That was also something you said to force me to take the job."

They said nothing. He had spoken the truth but it didn't matter. They were responding to complains from the citizenry and their hands were bound. Only then did he see the fear in their eyes. They were being manipulated against their wills to try and force him out. Someone had the precinct and even the mayors office between a hammer and an anvil (rock and a hard place)

Some of the other officers were wondering was was happening but they were just looking more unsure about something during that time. However, they were growing worried about it to make them become really curious. They didn't say a word while seeing Alice looking ahead hearing she was up. She walks by Tomas to head inside seeing the higher ups as they look down at her.

"You know why you were called here?" one asked as she sighed looking at them.

"Yes but I don't really agree with this if that's what you wish to say. I didn't do a damn thing but I guess to you I must have done something wrong. You shouldn't do something that's going to make you feel violated towards me doing something wrong with you. Unless I'm wrong?" she asked with arms crossed.

"Your not. We are just being sure you don't do something wrong unlike your partner there. You know you are one of the best here in our department and you seem to be wrong about it I'm guessing?" he sees her look confused from what he was saying. She didn't understand what was going on but she only remains silent seconds later.

"I trust you will not fail us, Alice. Just do your job-"

"As you told me all the time. *Sighs* I don't agree with what you are doing with trying to get me to get another partner. It's not fair though. I don't need another one and yet Carlos has one working with me. I figure why not? You shouldn't make it worse or horrible but you make it seem like he's just a monster to you all. Just because he was doing his job?" she asked.

"That's enough Alice. I know you are trying to do better but don't let it get to you. I know deep down it seems wrong but that is not true. We just want you to be alright and understand what is happening right now or at this minute. We are trusting you understand the rules of your job so please don't disappoint us."

"..........." without a word, she turns to leave after they dismissed her. Alice leaves the room heading out while Carlos waited for her to come out. He was about to say something to her but didn't, sensing she was pissed off. He held his hand back as she walks out slamming the door that the others were quiet worried.

Alice gets to the car to get it slamming the driver's side closed. Tomas was in the car but said nothing, knowing she was angry but begins driving home once more with them not saying a thing to each other.

He was getting more and more angry but by knkw she knew anger was to cover his tears. He wanted to cry. None of this was fair and he didn't want to be separated from her he didn't want to he sad or have her think he was angry at her. He wasn't. But she was mad at him and punishing him. And now he was fighting his urge to march down to the mayer office and snoop around.

He had always known the town council had an enemy and that was why he followed the law. If this person was in any other position he would have already gone rogue. She knew nothing about this enemy he thought but what he didn't knkw was she did and was unaware that her own enemy was the same as his. Her clues brought he rto the city and died and she was always looking for more.

This one enemy was secret to her still and his heart was broken from hurting her and the things he had done he growled a name she never expected him to say and she hot the brakes hard and faced him.

"How do you know that name!" Hatred seething boiling hatred came from her and his heart broke worse.

"I'm here to kill it... and its trying to seperate us." He said haltingly not wanting to make her mad.

"You know where he is?" She asks and he nodded. Unsure of she was going to kill him or kiss him. He expected her to kill him with the hatred he felt from her.

She didn't know what to say to be honest, unsure on how he knew this without saying anything. For now, that leaves her trying to figure out where the person was. Alice looks at Tomas not saying anything almost wanting to break something but she calms down silently because of it. She breaths out covering her face then looks to the front gripping the steering wheel.

"Tomas.."

"Yes?"

"You are going to show me where that person is. I don't care how or when just tell me and I'll drive us there. I hope you are right because of this is a-"

"I would never do such a thing as lie to you, Alice. I just hop understand I speak the truth. I know that and so do you." he sees her look at him before taking a deep breath. All she did was look ahead and begins driving while he leads the way. Even if all of this was possible, the bubbling anger wouldn't stop growing inside of her. She was seriously pissed off. And he can tell she was.

"Besides... we can't just go kill him... or I would already done it. We have to show people the truth. The truth that he is evil and wants to devour everything. Including the people he claims to represent." Then she knew who it was. She had suspected him before but never knew for sure. She couldn't prove it so her clue trail ran dry.

"The district attorney office. You mean ot really is him?" She asks and Thomas nodded making her bite her lip. She once tried to go after him by the book and was pushed into this job. But she had met Thomas there soon after.

"Alice...?" He said trying to get her attention again. She tried to relax she tried to be quiet. As a result her tears were silent but still flowing.

"You knew and you been trying to goad him into coming after you himself all this time haven't you?" She asks him and Thomas nodded

"All this time."

"And all this time you said you would protect me and all I wanted was to protect you... you meant even fro. Him too?" She asks and he nodded again

"I meant what I said I'm sorry I made you feel like you weren't doing enough. I was trying to see how far you were willing to go with me and I messed up... I neve rethought you weren't good enough I just never expected my words to hurt you." He said giving her a full apology. "Please let's not rush this and ruin what little we have left. Let's take him down fair and square." He suggested hoping to calm her down and make things better. For everyone

Even if this was a possible change, she couldn't believe it. All of this was just messing with her head and it leaves her being more angry with the district attorney office. He was seriously doing this just to get his way? Well, she only lets out a slow breath but didn't answer nor looked at him. That got Tomas worried he said something wrong to her but she relaxed after a minute.

"If you have any ideas on how to take him down, I'm listening. I'm still pissed off at the bastard but..I'll hear your plan out." she mutters not speaking but he only lets out a sigh seeing her just look ahead to start driving away again.

"Don't worry; I do have a plan but we just need to plan this slowly and carefully without worry. I know it hurts just finding this out but trust me...I know what I'm doing." he reaches to touch her cheek but she tenses up to move her head away from his hand not saying anything.

"As I said; I believe you." she said but he lowers his hand as they drive on home. When showing up, he begins explaining his plan to her while they sat in the room. She was drinking some hot tea for herself and him a little water. He begins explaining the whole plan to her that she was listening to each word. She rests her head on her hand listening to him but he was still making it clear for her to understand.

"Okay; and you believe this idea of yours will work? Without the risk of us being fired? Because at this point, I'm not really caring about being fired if they were going with this shit."

"Yeah, I'm sure of it."

"Was i in this 0lan of yours?"

"No meeting you was unexpected and the best thing ever."

"Okay go over it again."

"Okay basically my plan to take him down was to take down the organizations he runs forcing him to establish more to fill the void left by my actions. This means he would contact criminals discreetly. I've been tracking most of the independent crime lords and the allied ones to make sure to know who is doing what we've caught most of the old organization leaders and shattered most of the overt dealings and made his covert dealings a logistical apocalypse."

"Dark"

"I'm not done. So far iv e connected him to 3 crime lords but he has been covering his tracks so well that I was almost assassinated."

"!?!?!"That got her attention some time after they started living together he disappeared and came back weaker and starved she knew this had to be the time and she remembered how hard she chewed him out.

"So... ahem we've been working on this. Did the chief know?"

"Its why he retired... he decided to go undercover taking an early retirement to be bait. It is working because we have identified two goons that work personally with this guy and they are hybrids... artificial hybrids." He used the word hybrid but knowing he was one as well he thought he was an abomination keeping his other half secret to all but her. Officially he was a werewolf but only the chief and she knew he was a hybrid.

"Then.. we have to wait and search for more evidence. Or catch him breaking the law." She said trying to consolidate the information in her head.

"Yes" he said and he saw she relaxed and maybe forgave him a little bit. He was helping her even before she knew and the work they did together was all a part of taking this thing down for good.

"Well, at least that's known for much but you don't know if the remaining ones are catching on or worse figuring this plan of yours out. I get you did this just to make sure nothing else would happen or would try to stop them. I know the remaining ones will try to find who the main planner is." she looks down at the counter thinking about it but she only sighed.

"Don't worry about it. I will be sure this plan pulls through as it has. Just need to stay calm and relax for the most part. We just need to catch the main leader so we can stop them from causing more harm." he explains this to her but she only remains silent understanding what he said. From the recent activities that leaves Alice wondering about it. However, she sighed figuring it will take some time.

"If you say so but alright...." she said but Tomas sits down near her and touches the top of her hand. She tenses up from being touched seeing him look at her. "What?"

"You trust me don't you?" he asked sensing she is still hesitant with him after what happened but she looks away from him while trying to clear her head moments after. True, she was still hesitant around him but it's not too bad after that night even with the hit.

"I do trust you...." she removes her hand from his touch while looking at the tv still playing the news again. Seems things were on a stand still right now but Alice knew things could be happening without many knowing. She just lets out a sigh and tries to keep her own anger down before Tomas sighed wondering if she didn't want to be touched anymore by him.

"I understand. I just want to be sure you are alright, Alice."

"As I said, I'm alright." she stood up from the chair and goes to get some water as Tomas watches her. She still was looking ahead not doing too much but this leaves him over thinking. Was she trying to gain distance or was she just nervous around him right now? He didn't mean to hurt her in anyway but he was just silent or angry with somethings going on. He might be wrong but he didn't want to make her scared of him. She came back to sit down with some water to drink in a cup.

"*Drinks water slowly*" they sat there in silence since he was thinking about the plan and of her. Was she really alright or was she just holding back her annoyed anger building up. He wasn't sure to be honest. She was either lost in thought about this plan or was it something else.

"Alice? Are you sure you are alright?"

"Yeah; I'm fine I guess."

"No you arent.. I'm not blind you are clearly holding something inside that you want to get out. I say let it out." He said it firmly knowing he was right. He knew she would deny it and get irritated but maybe she wanted something and was trying not to ask as some form of punishment to him or her. He wasn't sure because she was still secretive.

"And what makes you think I'm holding anything inside? You seem to notice I'm fine so lets leave it at that." she started standing up, about to head into her room but he stops her from leaving. Tomas knew she was hiding something and she was either trying to stay calm or bottle it in like she usually would. It's something she wouldn't do but it's a possible chance.

"Listen to me, I just want to be sure you are alright. I know you don't want to say anything to me or speak to me about something personal but I'm just worried about you. I only wish to see that you are doing just fine." he started to say to her but she yanks her wrist from his hold looking at him.

"Just fine? I already said I'm 'doing fine' I don't need to repeat myself over and over for you to fucking know I'm fine, Tomas. Why don't you stop asking me over and over and leave it! You already have your plan so that's it right? Lets just do what we must and not speak about 'personal feelings'."

"Oh, so me worrying about you is bad now? You want to lose your own sanity from your anger just because of some stupid argument? I'm just trying to figure out what your bottling up. I only want to help you, Alice.." he said looking at her but she only glares at him with eyes glowing from that. He knew she was angry or annoyed right now but was worried she was stressing herself out.

"I told you I'm fine! I don't need someone worrying about me over stupid shit that can be avoided later on! What your doing is something important and I don't need you worrying about me. Lets just get that straight alright. I. am. FINE!"

"Your not fine! Your yelling and screaming at me just trying to help you out! I don't want you getting angry over something like that because it's not helpful for you. If you just calm down and tell me, maybe I can help you!"

"I'm not telling you anything! This is my problem so leave me the fuck alone!" she said leaving but he grabs her arm to stop her as she glares at him to hold her still.

"Will you stop it!!! Just listen to me!"

"No, YOU listen! Let me go and stop trying to help me! I don't want it! You'll just like that bastard years ago that..."

"What??"

"!!!" she looks down away from his gaze but Tomas was more worried now thinking about something in the past. However, he only lets out a sigh thinking it was something indeed in the past.

"I'm guessing your old partner? Listen, I'm not like him if that's what your sad about...."

"........"

He only remains silent and pulls her close into a hug as she was looking up at the ceiling feeling his arms around her smaller form. He was looking silent worried about her even more. He lets out a sigh but carefully rubs her back. "I don't know what I can do to help you feel better. I'm more worried about you after the time you seem to. I'm only doing what I must in order to help you feel better. So please; I'm begging you to tell me what's wrong."

"*Grips his shirt not saying anything*"

"Alice?" without saying anything, she moves away from him to leave. He reaches to stop her but she quickly shoves him back telling him to leave her alone that he grabs her shoulders and shoves her against the wall hard. She winces from the impact but he was holding her still.

"Damn it, Alice. Will you just stop it?!?" he shouted but he kept holding her still or pinned her against the wall. She didn't move nor said a word, looking at him but they remain there for a while just looking at one another.

He didn't move his hands from her shoulders but she was still gazing upon his face, remaining silent after a while that he just lets out an annoyed sigh thinking she was still holding her words back. That wasn't helping and it leaves him feeling more annoyed.

"Tch, if your going to do something then fucking say or do it. All because of what the hell is happening in this town, has everyone going fucking insane. I don't get what is going on through that brain of yours...but if your going to do something..then fucking do it." she snarled angry at him.

"What the fuck is wrong with you? Can't you see I only wish to help you?"

"What's to help? I thought you had the balls to prove that..seems I was just over thinking it. Everyone in this town has lost it and it seems like I'm starting to as well. I know we are partners but why? I'm nothing but an ass hole to you when i get pissed off."

"................"

"...So what now? Are you going to hold me here till I calm down or do something?" she said gripping his wrists now but he didn't let her go while looking down at her. She was smaller than him so that seems to show something.

"Alice.." Shaking her head, she grips his shirt to just yank him down. He thought she was going to headbutt him but his eyes widen in shock feeling her lips touch his. She kisses him deeply while he didn't move from the kiss. She held it for a few seconds before she breaks the kiss, still gripping his shirt and sees him move back just a little.

"The h-hell?"

"Think of that of how I'm feeling at the moment...Now I'm heading to me room to cool down." she hissed leaving the kitchen to her room as he stood there watching her leave as she slams the door and locks it behind her. All Tomas did was remain silent during this time. He remains downstairs not saying anything but looked down minutes later. What was going on in her head? Now he was really worried while letting out a sigh.

Hours later, he was eating dinner alone since she was in the basement doing some kickboxing training alone. He heard the thuds of hits from her strikes while she was blowing off steam. He was only watching the news still looking silent.

She had been at it for hours but only getting more and more heated. The kiss set off a chain reaction inside of her like a tide that couldn't be held back. Her raw need for his love was constantly annoying her. He tried to check on her but hearing his care and concern only made her feel more desire to have him.

This was because she didn't get to finish before and had been suppressing her urges. He felt something similar and it was murder to him holding back. She finally wore herself out and collapsed but her body was still aching for more.

"D-damnit I sh-shouldnt have kissed him... why does he have to be so stubborn and caring one minute and selfish the next? " sje said and she let tears of frustration fall from her eyes. She did t sob she was too tired but now her urges were worse and she couldn't hold them back anymore. She wanted him she wanted him bad and he was respecting her wishes and keeping away from her.

Why did she do this to herself? She didn't know and her insides ache for his touch once more.


He was confused and didn't know what to do. He wished she would just do what she wanted with him or tell him what she wants. Women were never that simple. He loved how mysterious they could be. How mysterious she could be... hiding her desires even when he proved it now telling him to prove it again. Did she want him to force her down and completely destroy her? His heart and member throb as the thought and he slapped his face. At the same time he hears her hit the floor.

That got his attention.

He went upstairs and knocked. No answer. He knocked again louder. No answer. He tried the know. It was unlocked. He opened the door...

Inside she was laying panting in her sports bra and shorts her gloves were skewed and her hand was out of one holding her chest. Thinking something was wrong he rushed to her side and picked her up in his arms holding her against him.

"ALICE ALICE ARE YOU OKAY?" he shouts shaking her. Her face was red and she turned to see him and she lost it. He was here and trying to help her again not looking at the situation unable to see details for his worry that she was hurting. She wasn't in pain from hurting herself like he thought and her shaking head told him that much "then cmon let's get you to bed"

He picked her up getting a gasp and she flushes hotter and redder it wasn't time for the heat so he didn't think it was pressure related. She wiggles and squirms in his hold feeling her body heating up and her own desires were running wild in her mind.

He once again had her words only broken as she repeats herself "p..ro..ve i..it." she said still holding her chest and panting heated puffs of steam. He took her hand away from her chest and saw that her bra was nearly torn from her grip.

He became more worried wondering if she was sick but Tomas only shook his head not wanting to do something wrong. Being careful, he sets her down on the bed and goes to get some water ice cold for her. She just rests on her side hugging the pillow while he was rushing to get everything. Even if her mind was cloudy right now, her body was still aching from the pain. She shouldn't have kissed him but something from her anger got her mind unclear.

Tomas came back and sees her sit up to take the water and drink it down quickly. He kept his slight distance but looks away. She really was soaked in sweat but her body was shaking just a little. What was going on? Was she indeed sick. After drinking the water, she slams the cup down but didn't shatter it. She lays back down facing away from him.

"Alice? Did you need anything else? More water?" he said about to touch her but she hits his hand away.

"D-don't touch me. I'm fine now or stabilizing right now. You d-did your part now leave.." she orders not facing him but what her thoughts were screaming to her right now wasn't much help either.

"Alice, something is wrong. Please, if you just let me help you-"

"I don't want your help. I just want to be left alone. So get out and just leave me here. I'm not going to ask again because if you don't leave I'll just shout at you to leave." she said pointing to the door. "Now, get out."
