"No." He said firmly and didn't move.

"Excuse me?" She asks with a warning in her voice but the warning wavered as she felt his determination to make everything alright between them.

"No. You said prove it... you only ever said that when you wanted something very specific." That caught her attention and he went on. "You want me to prove I mean that I want to help. You keep giving me clues but then you act like if I act on these clues I will make it worse."

"Thomas.." she tried to warn him again but he stopped her with kiss. I think we sometimes get our signals mixed up and think different things but that normal. We are different minds growing in different ways. "Honestly; no. You're not a bad girlfriend. As I said. We are different and we won't like the same things. Not all of them at least but maybe some. Besides, No one else understands me but you Alice. You know that remember?" he mutters but she slowly looks at him but then forward again. Even if that's the case, it was years ago when he said that. After a big argument they had from a mission that went wrong.

Her ending up in the hospital and him over worrying himself that he went from almost killing himself with over doing it with work. He worked non stop trying to find the bastard that got her in there. He found him true but she was angry with him for doing this. He almost ended up sick but she and him made up, laughing with tears seen in their eyes.

"I...see. *Sighs* Thanks for at least being honest. And if it helps, your not a bad boyfriend. I know I'm a handful....but at least you can put up with me." she said holding his hand back while looking ahead that she looks at him seeing a small grin on his lips.

"That's because your the only one that can handle me." he joked but she only looks at him still that Alice sits up a little and kisses his cheek. He blinks feeling her lips then turns to look at her in the eyes.

"Thanks; you big dork." she smiled a little but just looks to him.

"I may be a dork but I'm you're dork." He said and kisses her lips. It wasn't fair that he was being so good but she knew she made him feel happier and better from having this exchange. He didn't mean to phrase it the way he did but it worked and that surprised him. He didn't want her to think he was trying to isolate her or think that no one cared but him. But to hear her say that she was glad he put up with her made him feel like all the hard parts were worth it. That maybe he wasn't as bad as he thought.

His kiss broke on this thought and he had forgotten that he was kissing her making the kiss one of the longest and most passionate they shared in a long time. He remembered the incident and how he swore no one would be allowed to hurt her again. He remembered life more or less returning to normal after.

He was happier than he was a moment before and maybe she was as well.

They didn't move for a second or so till he breaks the kiss while she looks at him still holding his hand while he was smiling at her. Alice just smiled back but moves back to now sit in his lap facing the window. He just wraps his arms around her waist holding her there so they could enjoy this peaceful moment together. Even with the chaos going on, she liked moments like this. It was just fine.

Then the phone rings and the answering machine yelled at them. "BIG TROUBLE COPS KILLED PUBLIC IN PANIC ITS LOKE A WARZONE DOWNTOWN DONT DRIVE. RUN." Before hanging up it was Carlos and they both sigh.he said don't drive because running was faster and more natural to them. Cars were so slow compared to their powers and used to blend in. She took his hand from her waist and wished she could have more time with him in peace but the city needed their help.

Together they don their gear and flash away to the precinct. On their way they had to deal with aggressive hunters who attacked the pair on sight. Together they were no match for the two...


Carlos had his phone shot out of his hand he tried to call their cellphones and they didn't answer so he called the house knowing they would hear him. He wasn't sure how much of the call got through and certainly didn't expect all of it to go through like it did. He raised his shotgun and fired over the upturned armored car smiting a wave of dark shadows with pure light turning them to ashen skeletons that burnt to dust. They were dragon fire rounds and already his weapon was looking deformed fro. Repeated use of superheated rounds.

He reloaded only to have a clawed hand reach over the side and grab his face. He fires the only round he managed to land point blank and roasted the barrel forcing him to discard it and pull another. He was cursing fluently and barking commands as the repeated roars of dragonflies shells burst from the shotguns. It was a targeted assault by the criminal underworld against the law.

A new pair if brighter shadows flash by eradicating the main bulk of the exposed assault force and stopping in front of Carlos. The two lovers bought a full minute while the void was slowly filled with wolves and vamps.

"Thank God you are here the underground decided to try and take over by force apparently they had this whole army here under our feet. They look like they were bred for this from the missing persons reports we got." He fired a round at a direwolf a hulking werewolf that had no humanity blowing a hole in it and the vamps behind it. "My orders are simple releive as many positions as you can and don't hold back. This is war not law enforcement. Use what ever means you can."

She looked at her love and they both nod before flashing I to movment and taking out as many ferals as they saw before moving on to the next pocket of resistance. Sure these were cannon fodder but the leaders and tough ones won't come out unless these two were here and seriously fighting
