Warriors of light cuaght in a dark world.

"......" She didn't like how they were looking at him but Maggie guessed this was something he went through during his traveling. Maybe she was wrong; she didn't know. For now, she only remained quiet for now still tired and sleepy but she tries not to show it as much. Seems things were way different in other villages. Or maybe she was unsure about it.

He began to rhink he was in great danger. Some rhings keep cropping into his mind related to her and everything he onew about her. He knew she would do anything to protect him and he knew one day he would have to fight her as an enemy. It wasnt fair but it had to be done.

It would begin when her issues with darkness and monsters return. Until then he had to teach her as many of the hero spells as he could and maybe get her to teach him how to use the magic forge. He decide dto bring the matter up to her after she woke up from her rest. He needed sleep as well and as they walk into the inn he put down his money.

"Youre money is no good here. Its been a while. I bet that selling was the worst yet let me guess another army got in your way." The innkeeper said jovial laugjs coming out. He was friendly and seemed to know andrew.

"Twice... and the second time... my new companion was held captive. Turns out im some hero from another world and so is she. The monsters boss wants jer for some reason and we are fated to destroy the demonlord." He said all at once and took tje key.

"Be careful kiddo. I didnt adopt you so you could die in a hopeless fight." He said just as andrew climbed the stairs. Sje followed looking back. She saw the care and love in the innkeepers face and suddenly realized that this was thw village andrew grew up in.

She didn't say anything but only keeps quiet after a while when walking up the stairs. If this was his home, wouldn't people be more happy to see him? Well, depending on who he knew. She remains quiet seeing him opening a door to a room with two beds and other things one would see. She only walks in as he shuts the door but both head to a bed to plop right on one. She was tired and he was too but they didn't say anything remaining quiet.

"Go to sleep. We are safe here. I didnt mean to creep you out eith the woods. I just eanted to get to an inn to hep you feel safer." He said messing with hjs hands. It was a nervous habit he had when he wanted to hold her hand or look into her eyes. He didnt want to make anything worse betwen them and he sat down on his bed going through his items and sorting them in his pack.

She watched him take off his armor and weapons putting them away before lying on the bed and turning to look at her.

She looks at him doing all that but she only remains quiet looking at the floor as the sun was still rising for the morning. For now, she was way too tired right now to speak about that then shuts her eyes trying to remain calm after all though.

"It's fine....I guess. It's nothing major or anything. I just want to get out of there because it felt scary being in there. I didn't want to sound mean I just didn't want to be in the woods." she mutters resting on the pillow since her cheek was squished against it. The bed felt nice that it was already making her sleepy.

He looks to see her remain silent but was silent. "I understand but I only figure that because you been through too much due to that. So, again, you can rest...and sleep." he said setting more items to the side as Maggie kept silent feeling nervous on sleeping.

"....R..right.....I don't...." she did want to sleep but felt too scared to sleep right now. After her so called night terrors. She shook her head to sit up and try to rub the sleepy out of her eyes.

"I don't think i should sleep. I'm fine staying up for a while..."

"You can't do that. You need to sleep Maggie or you'll become weak during the time we are traveling..."

For now i know you will be safe. Nothing Wil hit you for some time in your dreams. The darkness has been banished temporarily. " he t9ld her taking her hand in his and stroking thr back of her hand with his thumb.

"If you dont rest youll be crabby." She said and he looks her deep in the eyes. He agreed with her and knew the same was with hwr as well.

"That's true. So how about this? We'll sleep together at the same time. Just shut our eyes and sleep. Will that help?" he wanted Margret to sleep so regain strength sine they been up all night. Only due to traveling and not wanting to rest in the forest. Maggie only lets out a sigh but she gives a slow nod.

"Alright." He goes ahead with going ahead with just going ahead with it. Knowing the possible outcome of it just looking silent. That just started leaves them looking at one another before slowly closing their eyes at the same time.

He was still holding herbhand and he was staying a ottle awake in case something happened. He would rest and recover in this state and he would be able tonwake her if she was hjt by another terror.

After a while both Margret and Andrew were sleeping minutes later as he keeps her close still holding her hand. After a while, he just keeps her close using her hand while they slept in the beds even if they were apart, his hand still held her own hand.

Their dreams were sweet. Of being together and travelling to see what other places were like. Without the monsters always trying to get in their way. She felt hiw lonely he was in this village and she saw a bit of him growing up here.

He was adopted by the innkeeper like she was adopted by the blacksmith. He worked on the farm and helped with the inn. His temper got him into some trouble and something in his head tells him he beeds to go out from time to time and wander around. She saw glimpses of fights he had with monsrers but not the ancient creatures. He actually enjoyed the dinosuars and other ancient beasts keeping it secret from everyone.

She saw his first harvest and how excited it was for him and his first time in a big city. Then his memories turn dark. He was trapped like her being tormented sonce it was a memory it couldnt be changed like a dream. She saw a demoness a succubus torture him much the same way she was always being tormented. She saw him bread and the demon the succubus advance in him and brand him with a mark before she woke up panting and sweating.

She looked around and saw that he was having his dream and still holding her hand. She had his dream not ine of her own and she finally believed him when he said he was tormented like she was.

She didnt see what led up to his capture but she onee that his frequent disappearances were why no one helped him.

Maybe it's best if she didn't. IF it was that bad for him then maybe it's safe to say she will fully believe him now. Maggie only lays back down him on the bed still holding his hand till pulling it closer towards her. She had it pressed up into her chest not wanting to let it go. From what he's been through, it was troubling enough for her to see him like this. All she did was lean in close to kiss the top of his head then goes back to lay down and try sleeping again.

The long day turned to a long night. They both sleep and rest as their powers were rested and restored. Hewoke before the sun on their second day in town. Their dreams were happy after she returmed to her sleep and now that he was awake he begins writing a list of spells and how to use them as well as how much power they will consume. He was doing this to go over them woth her. She was powerful enoigh to use amy spell he could and maybe she could do things he couldnt.

For now, they were going to talk through this just in case. However, the magic that she knew or can learn grows after a while.

He started with the list of the basic spells. As they get steonger the caster gets a new one that is better. The fire spells summon a single target fireball from fire to the firebane line that focuses on groups of a single type of enemy. The blast spell group is a type that hits all enemies within range of the caster starting with bang to boom and kaboom as she gets practice. The healing group is a simpler listing heal moreheal a weak and strong singke target heal and healus a medium heal that spreads to the allies of the caster. "Theres also zing or the revive spell." He said and explained that it can bring the recently deceased back but sometimes you have to keep casting it to make it work. He handed her the paper and she noticed there was an ice group. She gasped as she discovered she was powerful enough to summon a blizzard that would send icicles at all the monsters in range.

It all seemed based on sayin the spell pouring in the required power and picking a target. After his lemgthy explainatioms of the spells he knew he asked if she had any questions. (Yes there are several more on that list have to wait for your post hehe)

"Ummm...."

"What?" He blinks asking if she understood but their was a lot for her to try remembering from all that. Maybe in another way possible.

"This is a lot more than I figure it would be." she mutters holding the paper.

"And there is more. Speed enhancement, strength enhancement, defense enhancement, sleep, oh yeah, and lightening we can summon a storm to strike a group of monsters of the same type all these can get stronger as you get used to them. And theres even things you can do to monsters that are stronger to even the scales. " he was excited telling her these basics and as she went over the list she discovered she knew most of the spells even the basic thunder spell. Which is rumored to only be used by heroes.

"Again; that is a lot of spells for one to learn." she mutters looking at the paper but he only smiled knowing she can learn them.

The spells are simplesay the name of the spell pour the power into it. It should work and dont hold back." He said and she looked at the list and saw that the ones she was strong enough to learn were glowing. At thw top of the page was a mark for 10 pounds equals 1 and the only numbers were next to the spell names. The weakest was heal at 3 the strongest was the blast spell grouo with sixty as the number.

That was when she learned the meaning of the mark about pounds. She knew with her energy she could lift a rock or hammer. So how much energy the spells needed was ten pounds for every number so heal the weakest needed enough magic power to lift thirty pounds.

She gasped at how he made the measurments for power needed to cast a spell.

"So do you think you understand a little better now or do you need more time still but I still wonder about it. Their is so much of this going on right now." She said muttering quietly but he laughed explaining a bit more so it's better for him to understand.

Its alot to take in so if you have questions now is the time to ask. That should help. " he said sagely and nodfed his head with closed eyes. He waited for her question and was eager to answer.

"Just how in the world were you able to do this with using mass and measurements? Is their more to casting spells?" she asked.

The first step for a magician of anu sort in my world is to move a stone. Over time in my early training i found i could heal and i knew my rock weighed thirrt pounds and i had hust lifted it and dropped it in mt foot when my surprise broke my comcentration. I... i healed my foot and discovered i passed the test.

"That sounds painful but interesting too." she said thinking about it.

I think its a funny story myself. " he said and smiled at her. "You already know the fire spells use their valies to Gage the power you need to cast a spell." He said trying to be helpful.

"So it's a little different than the normal way.." she said thinking a bout it.
